Dr. Laura Pours Water On "Female Talk" Debate

And recently, a group of feminists led by Rosie O'Donnell, Jane Fonda, Gloria Steinem and others, announced they were backing the development of a new women's talk network, Greenstone Media. In addition, Sally Jessy Raphael is also gearing up to kick off her own lefty syndicated talk show.
In my latest Inside Radio column, however, cold water is poured on this silly debate. The reason is simple: there are already plenty of women doing quite well in the field!
Leading the way is Dr Laura Schlessinger, who has recently experienced a quiet resurgence, especially on KFI in Los Angeles.
In the the nation's second- largest market, Dr Laura's recent ratings gains make her the second- most popular host in the region, based on the number of listeners tuning

And she's just a hair below La La Land's top talker, fellow KFI host Bill Handel.
Also in the column: disgraced former hip-hop morning host DJ Star (Troi Torain) uses the courts to fire back at his accusers.

Did you hear "Dr. Laura" reading what she said was a fax from a gay male listener the other day? You nevber heard such blatant sock puppetry.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, did you know she really is a Doctor?
Well, okay, a Ph.D.
In Physiology.
But that's a good enough reason to call herself "Dr. Laura".
Isn't it?
Hey, LO, what "nude photos" would you be talking about? And were they taken before or after she had her breast cancer removed? Got a link? Or are you just talking out your arse again?
ReplyDeleteAs to needing more women in talk radio, why weren't Lizz Winstead or Janeane Garofalo mentioned as possible hosts for this new network?
