MSNBC's Schultz: Time For A Government Takeover Of Talk Radio

VIVA HUGO!

Libtalker: Time For Socialism In Broadcasting

*** CAUGHT ON TAPE EXCLUSIVE ***

Feeling emboldened by
the Democratic Party's success in imposing ObamaCare on the American public, lefties are already looking for the next hot issue to shove down our throats. For MSNBC libtalker Ed Schultz, it's the airwaves that should next be subjected to a socialist government takeover.

From Caracas, Hugo Chavez sends his best wishes.

After all, how is it fair that Rush Limbaugh has over 600 stations, while Big Eddie's affiliates can be counted on one hand? Here's what he told radio listeners earlier this week:

SCHULTZ (30:58, initially responding to caller claiming "virtual war" between Dems and GOP): It is a cultural war that's taking place in America, you're exactly right. And it's being played out over the airwaves of America. And I hope the Democrats now turn to the Fairness Doctrine.

It's time now for the Democrats to consider the Fairness Doctrine when you've got Rush Limbaugh out there saying, it's, we've got to defeat these bastards. He is now openly admitting that he is going to work against and campaign against the Republican, against the Democratic Party and campaign against Obama, and he is motivating people with the microphone and he's electioneering. Keep on talking, Rushsky! Hell, maybe I'll get on 600 stations too, or how many you own or whatever.

The fact is, look, it's not a level playing field when it comes to the audio culture of the country. Ownership has its privileges. When you own, I will be honest, if I owned 500 stations, the drugster wouldn't be on any of 'em. And that's just where it's at right now. But maybe we have reached the point where the Congress needs to equal it out. Equal out the audience.

SCHULTZ (32:51): Just keep in mind, there aren't any poor people with microphones.

SCHULTZ (33:56): And so, I think that, you know, hell, if we're going to be socialist, let's be socialist all across the board.

  • Airing you on 600+ stations still doesn't mean you'll have an audience.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 11:34

  • Shultz's show with the rotten ratings has a higher chance of being the "next to go"!..........

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 12:33

  • However you look at it, I think it's just fantastic that MSNBC is open-minded enough to give a mentally challenged individual their own radio show.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 14:09

  • Here is to hoping that Schultz's radio program goes the same route as Air America. Rush Limbaugh has the audience that he has because he's worked at it for over 2 decades. If people didn't like or agree with what he said they wouldn't listen to him and he wouldn't be on. We, the listening audience, decides (not the federal government), ie: Congress or FCC. Rush Limbaugh is a private citizen who is responsibly using his First Amendment Right.

  • Stupid is as Stupid does, and Ed Schultz is stupid. He shouldn't be surprised if he gets taken off the air by the government.

By Blogger PCD, at 25 March, 2010 16:34

  • Lets face it,you can only find hate-talk on the radio. The progressive talk shows do not "own"their own stations. We need to bring back the "Fairness Doctrine"..it's only "Fair & Balance" broadcasting..what are they afraid of?Competition?Isn't this the capitalistic way?

  • Who said ...1. If we don't believe in freedom of expression for people we despise, we don't believe in it at all.
2.When one makes a Revolution, one cannot mark time; one must always go forward -- or go back. He who now talks about the ''freedom of the press'' goes backward, and halts our headlong course towards Socialism
3.If the freedom of speech is taken away then dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter. '''Give me the liberty to know, to utter, and to argue freely according to conscience, above all liberties.

    1. Leftist Noam Chomsky - who GETS what freedom is about and wisely supports free speech .. even on the right or from fringe.
    2. lenin - a violent Ideologue responsible for the ultimate destruction of 40 to 50 million human beings
    3. George Washington - A Founding Father who knew the importance of being able to speak freely -- no matter which 'side' is speaking.

    4. I KNOW its MSNBC but Ed Schultz reveals which of the above he is closest too .. Lenin would be so proud.

  • Hey, that's cool with me, as long as conservatives get 600 television stations, 600 news stations, 600 cable channels and 600 movie and film production studios. What's fair is fair right, comrades?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 18:44

  • Problem is that the idiots that believe in this crap have not lived thru it. For once I hope all american socialists and communists would have a chance to experience stalin's russia or ceausescu's romania.

  • Fairness doctrine for Public radio and TV stations is fine.

Mess with privately owned and commercially supported radio and tv? you're out of your mind!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 19:27

  • Is this the same guy who called on liberals to break election laws in Massachusets in order to elect Martia Poop-ley?

By Blogger Hyphenated American, at 25 March, 2010 21:16

  • If you want fairness, what about on tv, will you go for that? The libs have at least 5 tv stations and then there is fox news. So make CBS and ABC totally right wing, then it will be fair.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 22:19

  • I must admit that when I want a good laugh I do watch Chris Matthews. He reminds me of all the boys in grammar school that no one liked, including the teachers. Every host on MSNBC must learn to conceal their jealousy towards their competitors. I almost feel sorry for them (especially Matthews) - they are that pathetic in their attempts to push themselves up by pushing successful hosts/personalities down.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 25 March, 2010 23:50

  • Ed you are an idiot. A bitter fat man with a little winky.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 00:01

  • I can't believe the useful idiots out there. It was fine to 'work against' Bush. It was fine to 'campaign against Bush', not that I have any love lost on Mr. Bush, but it's not so fine when it's "your" guy, is it Mr. Schultz? Eat my shorts you commie. Whining is all you have and that's why your content is so limited in broadcast and only your family members listen.

By Blogger Peter Four, at 26 March, 2010 04:27

  • Word is that BOTH of Schultz' listeners are excited about his idea.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 05:40

  • Ed Shultz had a show on airhead amerika. And no matter how much cash was pumped into airhead amerika (mind you, not by advertisers) it still went belly-up. Why? Because thinking people can only take the tantrums of the left for so long. For me, it was about 2 minutes. Ed's "arguments" could be countered by a kindergartner. He is truly a stupid man.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 06:33

  • Hey clown..your campaigning against the Republicans RIGHT NOW! Whats the fricken difference? Oh thats right..your a leftist and only they can have a radio show Ha hahahahhahah

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 07:26

  • Ed's just a little green with jealousy!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 07:29

  • Shultz is a whiney, liberal lunatic who hates it that no one listens to him. Air America failed just like all other leftist programs because they are filled with nothing but lies and are of no substance. The Same Supreme Court, who this man claims is racist and will call Obama the "N" word, will not allow liberals to ake over the air waves. The man is ignorant.

  • "if I owned 500 stations, the drugster wouldn't be on any of 'em."

Point one: Rush does not own 600 stations.

Point two: out talent him and you will out draw him.

Point three: That Rush would be excluded proves that fairness has nothing to do with the doctrine.

By Blogger Joe, at 26 March, 2010 10:33

  • Radio is a business. If Rush is on 600+ stations, that's because 600+ stations want him on their radio station. If Rush gives the station high ratings, they will keep him on because they are making money. Air America failed because no one was listening, i.e. low ratings. Rush is successful because of his popular message and the entertaining way he provides it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 10:54

  • Dear Mr. Shultz, You say that poor people don't own a Microphone, but thet do own a radio and if they want to listen to Rush or Hannity that is their business not yours. You talk about the right being mean spirited.Didn't you say you wished Dick Channey's heart was ripped out? Or how about the death threats that Preident Bush recieved. It works both ways.I wouldn't watch MSNBC if that was the only show airing. You all are a bunch of CLOWNS

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 11:22

  • One thing about "BIG ED", he actually allows a person to express their opinions, & a conversation w/ED occurs! And you can learn something! On the Right Wing shows, the host "overtalks" the person that calls..if you do not agree w/the host, the host will call you names & hangup..Sooo... you learn nothing! You learn only the view points of the host... only what the host wants you to hear. That's just how "they" operate! This is like brain washing...& a "lot of trailer park people" apparently enjoy that kind of entertainment.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 16:22

  • Man, this guy is as pathetic a sack of s**t as has ever existed. What a waste of sperm! How is that the PMSNBC continues to survive, with bottom-dwellers like this, Matthews, Olbermann, et al?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 26 March, 2010 22:42

  • Limbaugh couldn't lift Ed Schulz's Balls.

Why won't Limbaugh Debate any real one LIBERAL talker ?

(and not that PHONY lynn samuels)

By Anonymous Anonymous One, at 28 March, 2010 19:31

  • Am I the only one who has noticed that if it were not for NPR or the threat of gov't force, libs would'nt be on the radio? Seiously, when has a lib/progressive talker ever earned their keep in the free market outside of a couple of dark blue cities, like Boston or Portland for example?

By Anonymous danybhoy, at 29 March, 2010 09:40

  • My Dad watches Schultz most evenings and I have to tell you, this guy Ed is one of the most repugnant, uninformed, Obama-worshiping liberals out there. He makes Bob Beckel look smart and that's not easy to do.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 30 March, 2010 12:09

  • This is not Venezuela yet,I for one will not shut up!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 31 March, 2010 18:25

  • Ed Schultz unfortunately is from North Dakota and is big buffoon and needs to wear a muzzle or be muzzled for his stupidity. Of course he wants the fairness doctrine because he sucks and he can’t get ratings.

By Blogger Eric J. Burton, at 02 April, 2010 00:32

  • "...Rush Limbaugh out there saying, it's, we've got to defeat these bastards. He is now openly admitting that he is going to work against and campaign against the Republican, against the Democratic Party and campaign against Obama, and he is motivating people with the microphone and he's electioneering...." OH MY GOD!! THIS IS A TRAVESTY!! Does he really think this is shocking? What does HE do when he speaks to his audience of....what, 14 or 15, but speak against conservatives? Ed makes such an idiot of himself. It's no wonder no one listens.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 30 May, 2010 04:41

  • shultz is eith a dumb liberal buffoon. or shultz is just trying to play the public.because there is no way he actually believes people want to socialist, he crazy. obama fooled alot of "cant think for themselves" independents into thinking he was astright shooter. but he is just an incompitent bleeding heart socialist liberal. and that is bad.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 27 July, 2010 23:28

  • Every time he opens his mouth its about nothing. you remember Seinfeld show. A show about nothing. Well when he opens his mouth it is the same thing. Basically. His brain is so full of hot air when he spurts out stuff like that the words dont mean nothing to the American public. He will keep repeating himself until we turn a deaf ear to him. He is grasping at straws.
