Rachel Maddow: AZ Immigration Law Like Apartheid

MSNBC Libtalker: AZ Law Will Bring Apartheid To America

Does a libtalker's lack of ratings excuse him or her from accountability when incendiary statements are made? As MSNBC's Rachel Maddow recklessly compares Arizona's new immigration law to South Africa's onetime system of Apartheid, it's time to raise this question once again.

Rather than read the law itself (which even the LA Times recommends doing), many on the left have been swallowing whole wild mischaracterizations of the state's new crackdown, resulting in a request to end silly "Nazi" comparisons from the Simon Wiesenthal Center.

That leaves partisan spinmeisters like Maddow searching for some other line of attack, with the evils of Apartheid seeming to fit the bill. Too bad it's nothing more than childish scaremongering.

From her MSNBC show:

RACHEL MADDOW (Thursday 13 May 2010 - 00:49 in 'Los Angeles has history of activism'): Apartheid was a race-based governmental system that was totally morally egregious. People of color had to carry specific papers with them at all times to be checked by police on demand.

If they didn't have the right documentation on them at all times, just because of what they looked like, they were subject to being arrested. Just for being not white and not having the right papers please. See, compared to Arizona that was (pause), never mind.

Using Maddow's approach, any requirement by foreigners to carry documentation while in America, including tourists with a passport and visa, could be construed as "Apartheid". Would she really travel overseas without keeping such documentation with her at all times?

It certainly isn't advisable, nor is continuing this silly line of attack.

  • Rachel Madcow is a total effin imbecile, and anyone who listens to her drivel is wee-todd-ed. Imagine a multi-millionaire telling people that socialism is a good way to go, she will never be affected by a socialist society as long as she lies so well on camera...Lies so well for the establishment.

  • If a tree fell on MSLSD studios during propaganda sessions would ANYBODY see it or hear it?! These idiots couldn't pay intelligent people to watch their insanity. The lousy Cartoon Network gets higher ratings than MSLSD! MSLSD is the Airhead America of television. The ONLY reason they are still on the air is they are funded by wealthy leftist moonbats like Jeffrey Imelt. Without funding, like PBS, this joke of a "news" station would have been dead & buried years ago! There are more important things in life to worry about than statements made by drooling moonbats on a station whose viewing audience could be counted on one's fingers!

  • I'm still trying to figure out why this woman is so highly thought amongst the left. There is not a whole lot of substance there. For someone with so much education, she sure does'nt seem to have any rational thinking skills.

  • Now,now boys and girls.
Rachel's communist and socialist (Nazi) rantings are not her fault.
She is a victim of TOXIC TAMPON SYNDROME which eats away at the thought process and gray matter.
Don't know about you, I think Rachel and Elena would make a cute couple!

  • You're ducking the point Brian. (Laying all personal opinion re: Maddow and her liberalistic viewpoints aside ) AZ's SB1070 authorizes, and even mandates police to scrutinize "brown-skinned" persons' citizenship (even waiving the need for a warrant) in ways that no anglo will ever have to experience. THAT'S RACISM - and that, like her or not, is Maddow's just comparison to apartheid; not merely, as you say: "foreigners having to carry papers".

  • MSNBC? What's that? I removed it from my channel line up so I never accidentally stumble onto it.

  • Rachel IS RIGHT about showing.

Rachel IS WRONG about how they are used.

Nazis created laws to make criminals out of formerly legal people

    H U G E -- OOPS

AZ says that people who appear to be CURRENTLY Illegal have to show their papers.

  • The law is 16 would think that all these supposedly educated leftist could just read the law..and then make a stupid comment.

Since 70% of Americans agree with this law..its predictable that the leftist loons would hate it. Keep it it up MSNBC, November is right around the corner and your coverage is critical to a conservative BLOWOUT!
