Gov. Romney's Foes Pile On
Do you care what your second cousins think of you? Do you even know who they are?
Gov. Mitt Romney's foes smell blood in the wake of a few of his recent political missteps, such as his out-of-state campaigning that confused many, now they are piling on with everything they've got.

A man who claims he's Mitt Romney's second cousin and is embarrassed by the governor's gay marriage stance got a terse response from the Corner Office: Never heard of him.
In a front-page interview in Bay Windows newspaper, Samuel Parkinson, who married his partner of 10 years in 2004, said his genealogical research shows that he and the anti-gay-marriage governor are second cousins.
``I'm embarrassed to be related to him for that very reason,'' Parkinson told Bay Windows. ``I'm sure there's certain things he's done well for the state, but this isn't one of them.''
Romney's communications director, Eric Fehrnstrom, said, ``Although the governor doesn't know Mr. Parkinson, he respects his right to live his life as he chooses.
``However, the governor continues to believe marriage is between a man and a woman, and he respects the right of people to disagree with him.''
