JAIL FOR 'HATE RADIO'
Commie Fun, Silly Season, John & Ken Influence?
Providing a true case study in political counterproductivity, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening's stupid stunt may be just what California's reformers need ahead of coming elections.
With four of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's initiatives struggling to win approval ahead of Tuesday's special vote, airheads Warren and Annette appeared as special interest puppets attempting to crash his party.
From the AP:
In looking so foolish, Hollywood lightweights Beatty and Bening may very well provide a boost for a proposal to end California's horrible legislative gerrymandering system (an idea even Beatty's friend Sen. John McCain supports).
By the way, does anyone actually remember "Bulworth"?
In addition, Arnold's pushing propositions to curb public employee unions, long out of control in California, as well as toughen standards for teachers.
Rather than promoting a partisan agenda, these measures are about reforming some of the state's most abusive practices.
UPDATE: the San Diego Union Tribune doesn't think talk radio is helping Arnold's propositions pull ahead:
I don't think it would be wise to be quite so dismissive of John and Ken's political influence.
Need a good laugh, or maybe a scare? Here's a fresh dose of bona fide communist rhetoric, from Political Affairs.net-- Marxist Thought Online:

From the AP:
SAN DIEGO (AP) - The state's special election verged on a celebrity showdown Saturday when Warren Beatty and his wife Annette Bening attempted to crash a campaign appearance by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The Hollywood couple strode side by side to the entrance of a cavernous airport hangar where the governor was about to address several hundred supporters.
But they were blocked by a Schwarzenegger campaign aide, Darrel Ng, who told the "Bulworth" star he was not on the guest list and didn't have the appropriate wristband to get inside.
"You have to have a wristband to listen to the governor?" Bening asked. "He represents all of us, right?"
Beatty's appearance caused momentary confusion at the rally. Just before the governor took the stage, the hangar door was closed - literally in the face of Beatty and Bening. It was later reopened as Schwarzenegger began to speak.
Inside, Schwarzenegger told cheering supporters that his slate of four ballot proposals would "reform the broken system" in Sacramento.
In a later interview, he alluded to Beatty only indirectly.
"There's the main event, then there is the sideshow," the governor said. "I don't care about the sideshow."
Beatty drew the ire of some of the governor's supporters who called him a Hollywood liberal and a has-been actor.
"It's time for some people to retire," said former San Diego Mayor Roger Hedgecock, who hosts a popular radio talk show. "I'm trying to be gentle about it but it's clear that Warren is over the hill and desperately looking for something else to do."
In looking so foolish, Hollywood lightweights Beatty and Bening may very well provide a boost for a proposal to end California's horrible legislative gerrymandering system (an idea even Beatty's friend Sen. John McCain supports).

UPDATE: the San Diego Union Tribune doesn't think talk radio is helping Arnold's propositions pull ahead:
As Schwarzenegger daily makes the rounds of conservative talk-radio shows, the ever-optimistic governor insists that everything is on track for a big victory Tuesday. "There's more and more momentum going our way," Schwarzenegger said Thursday on the "John and Ken" show on Los Angeles radio station KFI.
Public-opinion pollsters find momentum going in the opposite direction.
Results of a Field Poll released last week showed all four of the governor's initiatives running behind. Two other nonpartisan public polls had similar findings.
The Schwarzenegger campaign says its polls paint a much different picture, but it won't divulge specific numbers. Spokesman Harris said Propositions 74 and 75 and possibly 77 are winnable, though Proposition 76 is a decided underdog.
I don't think it would be wise to be quite so dismissive of John and Ken's political influence.

There may be a collection of fifty or sixty million blue collar NASCAR dads, fascist Christians, neo-nazis, racists, greedy pig rich people who unpatriotically refuse to pay their fair share in taxes, and the corporate traitors to humanity and the planet... even to life itself, who prefer to support money over the environment, biodiversity and a world that supports humans.
These toxic takers are the vast minority of the world-- the supporters of Bush. But the rest of the USA and certainly, the rest of the planet, outside of the corporatists and fascists in other nations, consider George Bush, his verminous minions and cretinous, despicable supporters to be pariahs.
The dictionary defines a pariah as an untouchable. To me, an untouchable by caste is a person who is unjustly treated as a person to be totally avoided and to be accorded contempt. The untouchables in India are born into their caste and it is not their fault.
George Bush has grown into untouchable Pariah-hood. He has taken on the mantle of a religious fraud, the rapist of a nation, the despoiler of nations, the waster of billions, nay hundreds of billions of dollars of resources and assets, the killer of tens of thousands. The destroyer of thousands of homes.
It is very likely, much because the population of the planet has grown so much since the 1940s, when there were just over 2 billion people on the planet, to now, when there are over 6.3 billion, that George Bush is the most hated, most reviled man in the history of the planet-- more hated than Hitler....
We see riots in France. Violent demonstrations following the path of Bush. The criminals, liars and thugs who represent the Bush administration and its supporters in congress should be facing serious protests. The right wing hate talk radio commentators should be jailed for echoing the right wing fascist government's lies. The protesters in Argentina have made clear, they don't hate Americans. They hate Bush and the Administration.
They hate the right wing Republican Theofascist, corporatist, Christianist extremists. Most of the world does. It's ironic that we can get help from the rest of the world to help take back America.
