Former Garofalo Co-Host Appears Cut From Schedule






In the first change to Air America Radio's schedule since the network's takeover by Stephen L Green and Rob Glaser, mid- morning talk host Sam Seder has apparently been canned.

According to reports circulating on the left side of the 'Net (but as yet unconfirmed by the network itself), Seder will wrap up his show in the next few days, if not sooner.

Seder is best known as Janeane Garofalo's former co- host on the since- cancelled Majority Report evening show. After the latter's departure last year, Seder slid into a mid- morning slot, but there was little buzz or ratings to show for his time there.


Oddly, Seder has since continued to utilize the Majority Report logo, as well as Garofalo's image, at the top of his website's home page.

With liberal talk's future as uncertain as ever, in addition to Seder's relative lack of radio experience, your Radio Equalizer suspects that securing future work in the field may prove difficult.


UPDATE: from the left, there's been some fresh backtracking on the story, but it still appears to have some basis in reality, given Marc Maron's contention that the slot was offered to him.

In addition, Seder's weak performance to date would make him especially vulnerable to schedule changes. Finally, in earlier press reports, the Greens expressed public support for returning Maron to Air America's lineup.
