Anti- Rush Limbaugh Attacks Stepped Up, Elizabeth Edwards Joins In
FIRE AT WILL
Desperate For Victory, Left Tries Anything To Get Rush
So far without a single tangible victory in their dishonest smear campaign against Rush Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly, the "progressive" left has resorted to attacking talk hosts with anything and everything, no matter how weak the weaponry might be.
Moving beyond mere dishonesty, Democrats have entered the realm of fantasy against Limbaugh, with Elizabeth Edwards injecting new allegations against the talk titan without a shred of evidence.
Can't make anything else stick? Then let's resurrect the old anti- Bush chestnut, Rush The Draft Dodger. From the Politico's Ben Smith:
Isn't it now clear that the Dems are running against Rush, rather than each other or anyone in the GOP field? Who cooked up this strategy?
Show us where Limbaugh has expressed interest in running for president?
Elsewhere around the lefty blogosphere, the smears are even worse, but at least they aren't coming from presidential campaigns. Over at the Huffington Post, Hal Donahue and the Media Matters crowd want readers to believe Limbaugh equates wounded vets with suicide bombers:
Next up: when will Rush finally stop kicking harmless puppies and kittens? By the way, his response is found here.
Elsewhere at the Huffington Post, Rush is compared with Ahmadinejad, while Jane Hamsher does her part to get Limbaugh removed from Armed Forces Radio, which now appears to be a lost cause for the left.
By now, it should be more than clear: the left wants Limbaugh removed from the airwaves before the election season heats up further. That's their apparent 2008 victory strategy.
Good luck, guys.

Can't make anything else stick? Then let's resurrect the old anti- Bush chestnut, Rush The Draft Dodger. From the Politico's Ben Smith:
Elizabeth questions Limbaugh's draft deferment
An Air America producer just sent over some transcript from an interview their Richard Greene (not our Richard Greene) conducted with Elizabeth Edwards, in which she questioned Rush Limbaugh's Vietnam exemption:
My classmates went to Vietnam, he did not. He was 4F. He had a medical disability, the same medical disability that probably should have stopped him from spending a lifetime in a radio announcer’s chair; but it is true, isn’t it?
If he has an inoperable position that allows him not to serve, presumably it should not allow him to sit for long periods of time the way he does. I think this is a serious enough offense for the people who fund him, who buy ads and allow him to be on the air, need to be asked if this is what they really stand for, do they think it is alright for someone who has never served to denigrate the men and women who have simply because they are expressing an opinion. Frankly, I thought that is what we are fighting for.
Isn't it now clear that the Dems are running against Rush, rather than each other or anyone in the GOP field? Who cooked up this strategy?

Limbaugh Compares Wounded Veteran to Suicide Bomber

Where are the VSO's???
Rush Limbaugh, an expert at hate speech and half truths, is now comparing veterans who oppose him to suicide bombers. First, Rush called soldiers who oppose his view "phony soldiers" and now lies about it. Now he is comparing our combat wounded to suicide bombers. A soldier dared challenge Rush in an advertisement and Rush counters by comparing the soldier to the bomber. To quote Bob Dole: "Where were the VSO's?" Senator Dole was talking about the American Legion's and other veteran service organizations' failure to identify the problems at Walter Reed. But his quote serves just as well to ask why the American Legion and the rest are silent while Rush calls troops phonies and now compares them to suicide bombers.
The soldier, Brian McGough, said: "Rush, the shrapnel I took to my head was real. My traumatic brain injury was real. And, my belief that we are on the wrong course in Iraq is real. Until you have the guts to call me a "phony soldier" to my face, stop telling lies about my service." This was in response to Limbaugh's "phony soldier" comment.
Rush's response? Horrendously, Rush compared this soldier, Brian McGough, who was seriously wounded by shrapnel, to a suicide bomber and then insulted the intelligence of that soldier.
Next up: when will Rush finally stop kicking harmless puppies and kittens? By the way, his response is found here.

I agree this campaign is going nowhere. Media Matters has linked to every station that carries Rush as well. That will fall as flat as the rest of them.
That said, do you think that Reps will get any traction trying to link this to the Fairness Doctrine. Mike Pence was the first, and of course, Wes Clark gave them some ammo on it. If Republicans can somehow turn this into a referendum on the Fairness Doctrine, that would be a massive victory for them. Any chance of that?

Limpbowel is such a traitorous, hypocritical POS.

Limbaugh, like any other media figure, thrives on publicity, and has to absolutely love what's going on. After all, he ain't runnning for election, and those who listen to his show (face it, a huge number of people, in the seven figures at least) will not stop listening as a result of what is going on now - it would be ridiculous to think that. And many others will now listen, just because of curiousity. At least some of the new people will undoubtedly remain listeners. So..the end result? An initial and long term ratings increase for Limbaugh, and ultimately...more money.
In the meantime, a month from now all of this will be forgotten, and we will have gone on to the next (dumb) thing.
And, since we all can't live together, I think that the those who wanted to throw in the towel and just divide up the country are on to something, like the Vermonters and Southerners who met to discuss the breakup of the country this week. I'm all for it - we can have a country for the liberals, one for the conservatives, one for the latinos, one for the whites, one for the blacks, one for the cambodian-americans. Most important, a country for the, like me, Americans of greek/swiss/hungarian/german/bulgarian background, and on and on and on.
I want my country to be on the sea shore, though, preferably with a mild climate - maybe the coast of North Carolina.
By the way, what happened to Air America in New York City - 0.6? Why do they even bother?
By ENDITALL, at 05 October, 2007 15:39
"By the way, what happened to Air America in New York City?"
The neocons, the moneychangers, the shysters, and the crooked interlopers happened to Air America.
Mark Green happened to Air America.

The neocons, the moneychangers, the shysters, and the crooked interlopers [and Mark Green] happened to Air America.
What a laugh riot! Blame everyone and everything except the truth.
The truth? IT WAS THE SHOW'S TALENT AND CONTENT. THEY BOTH SUCKED!!!

Capitalizing and bolding a lie doesn't make it true, benzodiazapene.
By hashfanatic, at 05 October, 2007 18:14
Are you saying that Air America was a great radio show and terrific talent?
By The Benson Report, at 05 October, 2007 21:56
Except for Franken, Steve Earle, and Chuck D, the original talent and the programming on Air America was top-notch, prior to the neocon infiltration.
Talk radio gems like Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, and Mike Malloy gained nationwide exposure sadly denied to them for so many years, and emerging progressive voices like Sam Seder, Marc Maron, Rachel Maddow, etc. had a place to grow and hone their skills.
Of course, the Rethug power structure could not allow such a network to coalesce, so out came the right-wing crooks and interlopers to supplant and destroy the founding management for they knew that, in chaos, they could steal.
Then they trashed the Malloys and the Marons and the innovative programming that brought the progressives to listen, and there were buyouts and power grabs and liberal boycotts and Springers and Young Turks and all the other little destructive things neocons do when they apply the principles of political assassination to any media outlet they know full well they have reason to fear.
Now, AAR might better be called Air AIPAC, with Army and Sammy and Lionel and Cenk and Green and all the other components that make bad radio worse.
I hope that answers your question, benson-hurst. I can probably make it even more succinct and more to the point, but I do have the feeling you will take personal offense....
By hashfanatic, at 06 October, 2007 06:40
That's all you have is excuses.
The real reason is they sucked. Only extreme left liberals want to hear 24/7 of how they hate republicans.
I like to hear different points of view but AAR had the same crap everyday all day long.
Your hero Malloy lied from start to finish on his show. At least he did mention that his show was like a bar for people to vent on not to tell the truth.
I liked having AAR on the air it made liberals look like fools. It’s like having MOP and Hash on this blog they make themselves look like idiots.
By pf1, at 06 October, 2007 07:49
Ah, I finally figured out who you are.
By hashfanatic, at 06 October, 2007 08:06
Here I am, another phoney soldier. Here at Fort Carson, soldiers are petitioning the leadership to get rid of Rush from Armed Forces Network. Its not that we want a lib on our radio, we just don't want someone who hates anyone in our military. We fight to give everyone freedom, not just half the country.
By Iraq War Veteran, at 06 October, 2007 17:45
Saw you on the O'Reilly Factor Brian, well done! It would have been even better if you had literally placed Bill's balls in your mouth. You are a syccophant with a hero worship fetish.
By Gabe Y., at 07 October, 2007 04:39
Your hero Malloy lied from start to finish on his show
Pf! are you sure you were not listening to Limbaugh, Malloy only presented facts, schmuck
Hash
Sammy and Army do noy work for AAR, they work for WWRL as local hosts, same with Richard Bey.
Lionel is not really a political talk show host, but I can't see how he is a neo-con, he has been exposing neo-cons since 1998 on his old show.

Ratdog, Grateful Dead, marley and Cat Stevens?

love all those artists

"Lionel is not really a political talk show host, but I can't see how he is a neo-con, he has been exposing neo-cons since 1998 on his old show."
Props, yo...
He gave Bill Donahue almost an entire show to spew his moronity, disappeared his own 9/11 truth "openness" almost immediately after receiving a trip to the Holy Land from Michael Harrison at Talkers' Magazine.
He repeats the whole Hitchenesque "freethinker" atheistic propaganda and refers to his arrogant self as a "bright", to a point where he comes off equally stupidly as the typical premillenial dispensationist who just can't shut up about what he believes or doesn't.
He'll clue in on the most obvious fascist du jour and stutter in circles the same immature, filth-inflected babble the worst neocon pundits do, only in reverse, while ignoring every other instance of true.
He finds our cause of basic survival "interesting".
He ostensibly jumped leftward, from WABC to WOR to AAR to prove that labels are for shirts but it's about the $$$$$...
The show is so unspeakably horrible
that this schmendrick's obviously a plant, most likely to free up space at WOR for the devilish Malzberg, much the same way Whitman and Drudge were retired for Cunningham.....
Worst of all, this crypto proudly farts on air.
If I want to cringe, I'll tune in to Tweety....
Predatory capitalism is not serving our nation's airwaves well.
By hashfanatic, at 08 October, 2007 12:01
Oh, yeah, I know Sammy and Army are WWRL hires, but Rennie Bishop brings aboard whoever the money men tell him to...more demoralizing radio (by design)...
I've come to the conclusion that even liberals and progressives who consort with the enemy are to be equally shunned....if they are interested in detente with neocons, they leave themselves open to unclean dalliances and fleshy union with the dark side....before you know it, their heads are filled with imaginary "Islamofascists" and "free trade" myths, and their brains degrade to soft noodles with no broth in no time...
This time, we are drawing the lines...

So let me get this straight:
Al Franken called Cohen, the founder of AAR, a "crook".
How does Franken fit in with "the right-wing crooks and interlopers": One of them, or just a friend?
