NBC's Ann Coulter Ban Begins To Backfire Badly
ANN BAN PANNED
Could NBC Blockheads Propel 'Guilty' Sales?

*** CBS RADIO CUTS AT WBZ, KDKA, WCCO CREATE LISTENER BACKLASH ***
In the glory days of Top 40 radio, a move by broadcasting executives to ban a new record release often meant massive worldwide chart success, as curious listeners wondered what the fuss was all about. In 1984, for example, Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax" famously rocketed up the charts after the BBC blocked disc jockeys from playing the song, due to its suggestive lyrics and cover art.
In 2009, however, there's no need for vulgarities, as one can be banned for life by a major network merely for expressing political viewpoints that conflict with its de facto corporate stance.
In this case, it's conservative Ann Coulter, whose newly-released Guilty has apparently offended insiders at the far-left Obamist NBC network. The result: an "unbooking" from the ultra-liberal Today Show and a (since disputed, but not convincingly) "lifetime ban" from appearances on any NBC channel, including Keith Olbermann's MSNBC.
Even if subsequently undone, could this boneheaded move propel Guilty sales into the stratosphere? With the book hitting store shelves today, the timing couldn't be better.
At NewsBusters, Tim Graham notes that not only are lefty Coulter-haters OK with the Ann Ban, they are angry with CBS for not following NBC's lead! She will appear on that network's Early Show later this morning.
During Monday evening's Hannity & Colmes Show on the Fox News Channel, co-host Alan Colmes used the already oft-repeated lefty argument that more pressing matters led to the unbooking, including the Gaza-Israel conflict. In response, Coulter pointed to her replacement: gossip blogger Perez Hilton, an outspoken liberal foe of the conservative commentator.
And since when do network morning shows spend four hours covering overseas conflicts?
Clearly seeing a PR meltdown in the making, NBC suits are quickly backing down (with the Huffington Post reporting they may have already offered to rebook her), but is it too late? Guilty is now in position 11 on Amazon's ranking of bestsellers.
If NBC's boneheaded edict results in a sales explosion, Ann Coulter could for the first time in her life have something in common with 1980s pop bands that ran afoul of music censors.
Could life be any more unpredictable?

Ann Coulter needs to shut up. She writes all type of
b.s. just to get on TV and
sell books.
Last night she was on Hannity
and Colmes selling her book.
Her topic was unwed mothers
and their children.
Guess she forgot about Sarah
Palins daughter and the baby.
Coulter writes just to get
a reaction... get on TV....
say something else and so on.

The far left Obamaist network? Wait... I thought Obama was no longer far left, only 3 days ago, the far-left were being attacked by Obamists over the race card? So wait, Obama is in the far left, even though Obamists are attacking the far left?
Random house hires Colter to write these sick books, because I suppose they need something that is a huge, huge money loser to write off. I suppose the Coulter books, lose so much money they are able to cook the books, to actually make money off the loss.... So Coulter gets paid for failing and the accountants figure out a way to turn a failure into a profit.... Thousands of her books are available for $5.
How is she successful ,when 3 months after releasing a book, instead of going to soft-cover, the hardcovers go into the $5 bin?

Coulter is gonig to have to find a new gimmick, kind of like when a "bad guy" wrestler turns into a good guy.
Coulter has no place EVER talking about family and values. She has no kids, is not married and spends her time going to jam concerts like Grateful Dead revivals, where LSD, cocaine and weed are commonplace (not like this is a bad thing)
Ann is not a conservative, she is playing a role, like they guy from New Jersey playing a Sheik from Iran in the world of wrestlin did for many years.
Coulter is an LSD dropping, hard liquor drinking ex-hippie.
see you in the $5 bin soon. Maybe I will pick up a copy to allow my cat's to rip to shreds

I ordered a copy of her book from Amazon after hearing about the life time ban. I'm sure she is going to fabulously from the book sales.
And the losers at NBC woke up and backed down. They will have her on the show on Wednesday.
NBC viewership numbers will skyrocket on that morning. So both sides come out ahead.
But Coulter's influence has taken a big step forward.

I think she made up the whole story to promote her book.

This smells like another Coulter Publicity Stunt(tm) to gin up buzz for her latest book.
Ann Coulter isn't a political or social thinker; she's a self-promoting bomb thrower who managed to get herself fired from National Review because of her antics. Most conservatives I know keep her at arms length.

I just read this great blog on the humor site freedomhaters.org about Al Franken versus Ann Coulter.
At one time they were head-to-head political rivals, now Franken has got his place in Senate and Ann Coulter is banned from NBC. You should see the Coulter videos of her lowest moments.
Check it out here:

You seriously need to read a few books NOT written by Coulter; what on earth is "ultra-liberal"? Since it is patently evident the Today Show is not an actual radical left-wing tool of the worker's vanguard, and since most people who are identified as "liberal" are just moderates ... how can something be more moderate than moderate? Have you ever actually thought through, for a minute, what "ultra-liberal" even means? I am routinely stunned at the political illiteracy of the nutbar blog-right.
Coulter is the pinnacle of the polarized shouting-match "politics" as MMA that makes even half the left cringe at the sight of Michael Moore. This dynamic is old, unhelpful, and ready for the trash heap. You (and anyone who is interested in a meaningful conservative popular resurgence in their lifetime) would be wise to entirely dispense with anything that vaguely resembles the Crossfire model of screaming down your "adversary" via code words at the expense of invoking ideas that can actually be understood and debated. MOVE ON. These pundits are dead weight around the neck of your political ambitions, and you see it not.
