Democrat Tells Libtalker He Wants Republicans Sent To Prison

JAIL MY FOES

Grayson: Michael Steele Should Be Imprisoned

While it's already no secret that far-left Rep Alan Grayson (D-FL) is a loose cannon, there's no question his fiery rhetoric has been cranked up a few notches in recent days.

Fresh off of claiming he'd win the Republican primary in his district (while refusing to provide details of an internal poll) and planning to add a large red neon sign reading "GRAYSON" outside his office, it should come as no surprise there's an active website dedicated to putting an end to his madness.

But Grayson's latest example of excess has a more sinister ring to it: an open expression of his desire to see Republican foes sent to prison, starting with Michael Steele, for reasons including past support for offshore oil drilling.

From an interview heard during yesterday's Stephanie Miller Show:

REP ALAN GRAYSON (31:26): How about just tracking down every single person who said drill baby drill and putting them all in prison. Why don’t we do that?

MILLER:
There you go.

REP GRAYSON: Starting with Michael Steele.

MILLER: Yeah, isn’t that the galling thing about all of this. That this is the drill baby drill crowd that put these regulations in place that’s criticizing this President as if this is his fault.

The question: when do Grayson's antics cross the line from silly to downright dangerous? Have we reached that point?

43 Comments:

  • I'm sorry -- we put regulations in place? Republicans have not controlled Congress since 2006. That was four years ago.

If locking up his opponents is the only way he can win, that says a lot about the current political climate.

  • I hardly think Grayson is dangerous because no one with any sense at all takes him seriously.

By Blogger Choey, at 04 June, 2010 14:21

  • Grayson 'jumped the shark' months ago ... i hope and pray Florida voters can kick him to the curb in November

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 14:29

  • Fine. Ban deep-water drilling, and drill in ANWR, liberals.

By Blogger Jane, at 04 June, 2010 14:32

  • When do Grayson's comments cross over the line into dangerous territory? Goodness, that happened a while ago.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 14:37

  • Let him talk.

The more he says, the more ammunition he gives to Republicans (or hell, even other Democrats) trying to unseat him.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 14:51

  • The "drill baby drill" crowd did NOT put these regulations in place.
The "drill baby drill" crowd are protesting AGAINST the regulations and restrictions that forced drilling farther and farther from the shore.

  • I am a Florida 5th generation native and I still say Drill Here, Drill Now. BP could spill oil on our beaches for a year and still do less damage to the beaches than the tourist industry does. Tourism is a filthy industry while oil is clean by comparison. Once the beaches are "condo-ized", they are effectively gone forever whereas they will quickly clean themselves of oil. The oil business pays good wages while tourism pays minimum wage seasonal jobs.

  • No, it's still just silly. And sad.

By Blogger Milton Stanley, at 04 June, 2010 15:43

  • Nobody is saying that the Oil spill is Obama's fault. They fault him for not handling the disaster well. The fact that he was so adamant about how badly Bush handled Katrina, we all had a right to expect more in the face of another national disaster - in the same part of the country, no less.

  • As if this butt pirate knows anything other than defecating.

  • Tell that jackass if he wants to put me in jail, that HE personally should come to my home and try to accomplish that fact. Tell him to first notify his next of kin, though, as he won't be going home from that fool's errand.

  • Actually, some people are saying that the spill is partly the administration's fault, given the indications that current regulations were not followed or enforced for the platform in question. Whether that is fair or not, I leave up to you.

However... I'm not sure if Grayson is serious, or if he is serious, if he is smart enough to realize what happens when you start throwing your opponents in jail.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 17:01

  • Would it be inappropriate to say that someone should kick Grayson's *ss?

By Anonymous Blacque Jacques Shellacque, at 04 June, 2010 17:32

  • Oh, I'd say he crossed the line when he showed up uninvited to a local republican committee meeting (held at a local family restaurant, BTW) and started being disruptive, swearing out the oppoosition for some imagined slight. That type of Brownshirt behavior has no place in American politics. In a more civilized time in American political history, he would've been thrown out of office for that stunt. By his own party.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 18:25

  • That's the ticket!!! When you can't win your re-election, jail your opponents!!!! This moron wants to jail people for their opinions but is quite happy to let people like Dodd and Ried continue in office, people who have committed illegal acts yet the authorities fail to prosecute them. When will the people in his district wise up and kick his can to the curb?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 04 June, 2010 18:37

  • I hardly think Grayson is dangerous because no one with any sense at all takes him seriously.

That's what people said about Hitler. "No one takes that Austrian corporal seriously," they told one another. Just as Hitler appealed to the filthiest, dirtiest instinct in too many Germans, Grayson is only saying what Democrats have long believed: Republicans are enemies of the people unworthy of humasn decency.

What on earth makes people think that Democrats will not act on it sooner or later? It's not like they believe in diversity of opinion or civil rights.

By Blogger Mwalimu Daudi, at 04 June, 2010 18:57

  • If Grayson represents the caliber of candidate that we can expect, we are in deeper do-do than we think.

By Anonymous gobnait, at 04 June, 2010 19:10

  • This is from Grayson's news release: "The poll also showed that the Tea Party is more popular with Republicans than any of the Republican candidates." According to Grayson's poll, "when asked which party they were most likely to support in this election, 16.3% of registered Republicans chose the Tea Party. Peg Dunmire is the Florida Tea Party candidate for Congress." If Peg Dunmire and the Florida Tea Party are more supported than any individual Republican, isn't that of interest? Grayson needs to be defeated, and Peg Dunmire and the Florida Tea Party are going to do it.

  • want Grayson sent to the loony-bin.

By Blogger lagibby, at 04 June, 2010 22:12

  • I hardly think Grayson is dangerous because no one with any sense at all takes him seriously.

Hey, no one with any sense at all would vote for Barack Obama as President ... and that's just what "no one with any sense at all" did.

Will enough people vote for Grayson for him to win? Never, EVER say the words, "Oh, come on! NOBODY could be THAT stupid!"

By Anonymous Murgatroyd, at 04 June, 2010 22:46

  • Grayson is an IDIOT. I sincerely hope he is kicked out of office in November.

By Blogger orbicularioculi, at 04 June, 2010 23:44

  • He's an IDIOT. He's going to get his butt kicked out of office in November.

By Blogger orbicularioculi, at 04 June, 2010 23:45

  • Dear Mr Bryan Baloney,

Mr Grayson is as right as he is a centrist at heart. You will see things differently because you are on the right-wing extreme of vocal nuttery. I don't see Mr. Steele going to jail but i do see some time in the hossgow as being very valuable for you. It would help knock some sense into your otherwise empty noggin. Good thing that the Democrats are in power. You are marginalized and you will stay there for quite a while.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 05 June, 2010 02:31

  • are you serious? for saying 'drill'? what an ass! what about we send morons like alan grayson to Kazakhstan to live?

By Blogger Peter Four, at 05 June, 2010 04:51

  • I'd rather track down everybody who supports Obama's "Hope and Change" and throw them in jail.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 05 June, 2010 05:06

  • Al Grayson loves the threaten people. If he isn't trying to take a doctors licenses away he's trying to muzzle someones freedom of speech. He's been in office over a year now and has done absolutely nothing to help this country or the people in it. What's he done? He's looked after number one, himself. Now he's in a political race of his life that will determine whether or not he has a political career and he's showing all the signs of a man who is worried and realizes he is about to be replaced. That replacement is conservative Patricia Sullivan and poor old Al knows it.

By Blogger Richard, at 05 June, 2010 07:43

  • Mr. Grayson's poll of Republican voters (or ANY voters for that matter) must be deeply flawed! Each time I read comments about articles about him, the vast majority of people oppose him.

If you haven't already, check out the website for the next CongressMom who will replace Alan Grayson in November: www.patriciasullivanforcongress.com

  • Simple fact is the enviromental lobby has forced oil companies to drill in deep water...we have some of the largest reserves of oil near in shore that are far easier to access than the 5,000 foot deep well that BP is having problems with.

Unfortunately, the enviro lobby has forced us to drill in much more dangerous areas...hence the spill in the Gulf.

By Blogger Rich Vail, at 05 June, 2010 10:09

  • This Democrat is almost to stupid to be in congress. We should put him in prison for defrauding the American people.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 05 June, 2010 11:20

  • Grayson is flat out an anti-American who is a member of Congress, PURE & SIMPLE. Does he have the right to what he said? Yep, but the idea of jailing those who disagree with him at his request is not an American ideal at all. He's a disgrace & those who elected him are as well.

By Anonymous danybhoy, at 05 June, 2010 11:36

  • Here I am ya idiot. You just try and come for me and see what it gets you. Come on, I DARE YOU!!!!!

By Blogger Unknown, at 05 June, 2010 12:53

  • Basically, 100% of the blame for this unspeakable environmental catastrophe falls directly on the shoulders of the EPA and tree-hugging, self-proclaimed environmentalists. They have successfully pressured US Government regulatory agencies to ban drilling for oil in shallower coastal waters and on US lands where large oil deposits lie untouched. A spill of this magnitude would be impossible in these areas. As far as Obama goes, the spill is certainly not his fault, but it does serve as a kind of metaphor for his presidency; a complete and total disaster.

  • Radio Equalizer ? who ? And Al Grazone? What? A stupid bunch of wasted airwaves...LOL... you got what accomplished. Other then causing me to want to sin. By cussing you out. I am not able to take much more of your absolute ignorance. No facts just hot air. No wonder Beck Hannity and Rush are kicking your liberal butts.

By Blogger Gail, at 05 June, 2010 17:28

  • Let's see other Democrats publicly denounce Grayson (D-FL).

By Blogger Micha Elyi, at 05 June, 2010 23:54

  • Patricia Sullivan is the republican candidate supported by the Tea Party Movement. Patricia Sullivan has grass roots support. Patricia Sullivan is going to oust the ridiculous big-mouthed, do nothing clown that now occupies Florida's 8th Congressional seat - but not for long. Patricia Sullivan - a Patriot - not a Politician and my choice for Congress.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 06 June, 2010 08:24

  • I found both Miller and Grayson dispicable. If you don't agree with them, you are a nut. Getting along means you put up with them and their arrogant rudeness. Yep. About what I expect from them.

Aside from that, they still have to own up to the fact the current administration and its appointees have not been following regulations and protocol. Of course they don't have to. They are "special" not mere mortals like the rest of us.

Too much of that BS going on in DC. Vote the bums out and put in folks with no political deals going on like Sullivan.

    By Blogger Anita D, at 06 June, 2010 18:03

  • Do Alan Grayson's antics your blood pressure skyrocket? Do this: count to ten, take a deep breath, log-on to Paricia Sullivan for Congress.com. Aaaaaah!

  • Democrat engages in hyperbole, right wing blogger blows a gasket. The lefty nuts do the same thing. Lather, rinse, repeat.

We will never arrive at a better place if we let the fringe elements control the public discourse. Eye on the ball people!

  • Mr Grayson has been generous to a fault in exposing his liberal political philosophy which is (not surprisingly) ultra intolerant. I can't wait for Pat Sullivan to restore some dignity and virtue to the CD8 seat.

By Blogger Dick Shaughnessy, at 07 June, 2010 10:22

  • Mr Grayson has been generous to a fault in portraying his true liberal philosophy which is characterized by a disturbing and arrogant intolerance. I can't wait for Pat Sullivan to take the District 8 seat and restore some dignity and virtue to the office.

By Blogger Dick Shaughnessy, at 07 June, 2010 10:28

  • Grayson is nothing more then a class clown seeking attention by making ridiculous, over the top statements. He is an idiot & so are those who vote for him. The people of Florida must be proud as hell to have this A-hole in Congress.
