Media Matters Anti-Talk Campaign, Rush Limbaugh, KAST-AM Astoria

FINALLY, SUCCESS!

Soros-Funded Smear Effort Enjoys Dubious 'Victory'

After spending millions in a widely- publicized effort to bring down the careers of Rush Limbaugh, Bill O'Reilly and other talk show hosts across the country, the Media Matters smear machine has finally won bragging rights.

Yes, the George Soros- funded outfit has succeeded in knocking Limbaugh right off the schedule at KAST- AM in bustling Astoria, Oregon (market rank: too small to be ranked).

Before David Brock & Friends start popping champagne corks, however, there's one little problem: the cancellation was more like a suspension. Worse for the Soros crowd, it lasted just one day.

In this Radio Equalizer - YouTube extravaganza, KAST host / manager Tom Freel explains how he managed to convince station owners that a week- long suspension would do little more than enrage Rush's many fans in the area.

As a compromise, the show was pulled for just a single "Rush- Free Day" at the station. In the clip below, syndicated host Lars Larson interviews Freel after having received a number of emails from confused listeners in Oregon:

Perhaps conservatives should encourage Soros to pump more money into this effort! It would be a great way to bankrupt the "progressive" tyrant once and for all.

  • Wouldn't Astoria be part of the Portland market? Or is it too far for that?

  • snowed in:

KAST, on the air since 1922 and programming since 1935, is now owned by NNB Radio of Seattle (source: About Us section of KAST website). Astoria, Oregon is in way Northwest Oregon, almost touching Washington State. In terms of TV and radio, yes it is the Portland market. But KAST is no KXL or KEX in terms of radio clout in the Rose City.

  • Know how to tell the right is scared and terrified that all their power will be gone next year

    count the George Soros refrences

Chicken little cons have nothing left but attacking children and creating fantasies about George soros

cons shrieking Soros is music to my ears.......

defeated, irrelevant and soon to be part of history.

Ronald Reagan is dead, his policies live on, but we are working on that as well.
I love using Limbaugh's statement about FDR and substituting it with Ronald Reagan.

another great day not to be a counterfit conservative lemming

Asked by the person who is currently ignoring my request to provide insight on Thom Hartmann. (And I don't believe for a moment that you haven't seen it...it's in the topic directly below this one, in case you've forgotten.)

A simple "I'm working on it" would suffice to let me know you're not blowing me off, because right now that's exactly what I think you are doing...which is too bad, because I was serious.

But, if all you have to offer is ad hominems, maybe that's just as well.

  • Snowed

what makes Hartman a cut above the rest? His grasp on history, his ability to debate conservatives on his program every day and do it point per point. His patriotism and belief in Americans and the common good. He is a scholar, author, family man, business man, and historian. Essentially he outclasses everybody on commercial radio, left and right. More qualified to talk about the issues than anyone i can think of.

Hartman can discredit modern conservatism based on historial refrences instead of "ad-homs".

  • Thank you. I'll try to check him out soon (it will have to be other than today, as he is about to sign off presently).
