MSNBC Libtalker: I Could EASILY Out-Draw Glenn Beck!
GREEN WITH ED-VY Libtalker Burning Up Over Rally Turnout Figure
In the insecure world of show business, there's nothing worse than the feeling of being upstaged. That's why for libtalker Ed Schultz, the thought of a cable rival pulling off a wildly successful event such as Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor rally is painful to endure.
Of course, ideological politics are heavily at play here as well, that's why Schultz sees a role for his pinky ring-wearing thug pals: with union help, we could EASILY top Beck's turnout!
Sure, Ed, give it your best shot!
We promise we won't complain about your date selection or lack of inflammatory rhetoric should you choose to take the high road.
Here's what he told radio listeners (if clip is not available, it will be shortly):
SCHULTZ (07:00): Hold it right there! Before we get to her answer, I could get every union head in this country, I could organize every progressive group in this country, the main bloggers. This could be The Ed March. Folks, 300,000 people on the heels of six months' promotion, that ain't no big shakes!
Six months' promotion, NBC News says 300,000 people. I bet I could do that! I bet I could do that with this radio show and my TV show and six months' production, six months' promotion, if I had the budget I could equal that march. I know I could!
I guarantee you, I could do more than 300,000! It ain't a big deal!
We can't wait to see what you can accomplish, Big Eddie. Get to work.
Rally Didn't Provide Fodder, But Libs Attack Anyway
What happens when our lefty friends fail to find fault with a major conservative event? Rather than commend the right for utilizing a constructive tone, "progressives" simply seek another way to go negative.
Burns could have scored an elusive bit of non-partisan credibility by praising the event's positive message, but instead chose to keep the smear machine cranked up to "11".
From today's Stephanie Miller Show:
ERIC BURNS, MEDIA MATTERS FOR AMERICA (4:18): I think the rally on TV that we saw this Saturday may have been the only instance where there wasn’t something racist going on with the Tea Party and Glenn Beck at least from what I’ve seen. You know obviously we’ve seen there was the last year and a half rallies with you know with really horrific racist hate filled violent inducing signs. A lot of violent rhetoric, a lot of racist rhetoric. Glenn Beck calling the President a racist himself on Fox News. This goes back quite a ways.
I’ve said for a while that I thought this rally I mean who knows looking back at it what it definitely was, but what I thought they were trying to do was essentially rebrand Glenn Beck and the Tea Party you know as kind of as the new face to the Conservative movement because they perhaps realized that they had the hate and the racism had just really taken really center stage with how people viewed them.
BURNS (8:20): Of course you guys realize that all of our lives have changed as a result of this event.
Clearly, Restoring Honor didn't go as planned for our "progressive" friends. But why not sit this one out and wait for a future battle that might be worth fighting? The left clearly doesn't know when to keep its collective mouth shut.
Big Eddie Derailed Long Ago, Now Desperate To Hang On
With libtalker Ed Schultz now facing the very real possibility of being fired by the far-left MSNBC network, we have one quick question: what took so long?
And that's barely scratching the surface: this guy has more baggage than the overhead bins on your favorite airline. So why now?
Clearly recognizing his days on MSNBC are probably numbered, Schultz has taken to the airwaves in a last-ditch effort to recruit additional television viewers:
ED SCHULTZ (17:10): Now, Beck has big ratings at 5 o'clock. But at 6 o'clock against me, they drop damn near through the floor. They lose half their audience. In the meantime, The Ed Show, right now, this month of August, we are beating CNN in the demographic 25-54 by 1.2 million people. In total viewers for the month of August, we are beating CNN by 3.77 million.
We're starting to play in the arena of the big boys now. ... Now, the other night we got as close as we've ever gotten to beating Fox. Bret Baier beat me by 103 points in the demo, 103. Now you see, you have to understand that, they have a big audience but, hell, they're all old! In 25-54, we're getting in the neighborhood.
[...]
SCHULTZ (22:57): And you have no idea, in my bones, in my very soul! In my heart! I want to kick Fox's ass! I want to drive them into the ground! I want to spike the ball! I want to kick 'em in the teeth on the way back to the huddle! And then I want to turn around and lift my leg on 'em! Because that's all they're worth!
Are there examples of similar leg-lifting rhetoric used by Fox hosts against their MSNBC counterparts? Anyone there threatening to burn the place down? We didn't think so.
Is Ed Schultz really a political pundit, or does he merely play one on TV?
As animated as ever, MSNBC's answer to Sylvester The Cat delivered a couple of doozies during yesterday's syndicated radio program. In his attempt to outdo even the most over-the-top rhetoric from pro-Islamist "progressives", Schultz hatefully labeled Ground Zero Mosque opponents "Aryans".
Considering how surveys indicate overwhelming opposition to the proposal (as many as 77% of voters), that's quite an inflammatory charge.
Then, later in the hour, Big Eddie laughingly channeled Ted Kennedy in confusing Obama with Osama.
What a day! Here's the audio:
ED SCHULTZ (10:14): You have a diverse crowd over here and you have a bunch of frustrated whiteys over here and that's what they are! It is an Aryan crowd, is it not? I mean, it's a Caucasian crowd over there so concerned about the mosque!
SCHULTZ (11:05): Now we've got a bunch of folks out there scared that the Islamic Islam [yes, the 'Islamic Islam'] is taking over America and we all have to worry about it.
----
ED SCHULTZ (51:57): Don't they have the wrong target? Shouldn't they be more concerned about bringing people to justice? Shouldn't they be more concerned about Obama and his lieutenants running around the hills of Afghanistan, that we just can't seem to 'cuff the guy?
Remember, it's aliberal calling for Obama in cuffs here, so don't blame the right.
Keep up the great work, Ed, our sinister plan to install a fake libtalker to destroy the movement from within has exceeded even the most optimistic expectations.
GLOATVILLE USA Media Matters Goons Relish Victory Over Free Speech
More obnoxious than an eco-friendly Sun Chips bag, the sound of Media Matters celebrating its victory over free speech ought to alarm radio listeners everywhere. After finally bagging its first talk show host, Dr Laura Schlessinger, the fringe-left censorship activists took time to gloat.
Listen as the organization's Eric Boehlert makes clear bumping off Laura is just the beginning in light of talk radio's "summer of hate". Who's next: Rush Limbaugh? Sean Hannity? Mark Levin? Any number of others?
From yesterday's Randi Rhodes Show:
RANDI RHODES (33:33): So let's go to that 'special interest group's' senior fellow, Eric Boehlert, from Media Matters; you bastard! How dare you silence her! (laughs)
ERIC BOEHLERT: (laughs)
RHODES: (laughs) What is the deal with her? For a relationship expert -
BOEHLERT: Yeah -
RHODES: She doesn't really take any responsibility for her behavior, doesn't she?
BOEHLERT: No - she seemed to have uh packed up and gone home very quickly -
RHODES: Yeah, for her long-term contract that's expiring a year and a half after she signed it!
BOEHLERT: Nobody took away her First Amendment rights, all right; she had the First Amendment rights to say whatever she wants on TV and TV and radio; and if she wants to uh suggest that people not marry out of their race and suggest black people have a chip on their shoulder; and suggest black activists are trying to serve racial discord in the country; she did in that long diatribe - she did all those things, not to mention the n word - she has every right to do it, and Media Matters and people who are offended have the First Amendment right to-to highlight that, and to highlight that to advertisers. Look - you know - conservatives love to talk about the free marketplace and how it cures everything!
RHODES: Yes! I pointed that out!
BOEHLERT: We should leave everything to the free marketplace - well, we did
RHODES: We did!
BOEHLERT: She was losing advertisers a lot, and at a pretty rapid pace, so the free marketplace came to work in this case.
RHODES: Eric, you know, at Media Matters, you track a lot of hate speech, you know, and you keep an eye on it, and you let everybody, you know, listen to clips and uh -
BOEHLERT: Yeah; we don't doctor things like Andrew Breitbart and what not!
RHODES: Oh, and by the way I must tell you that Radio Equalizer (whoever the hell Brian Maloney really is) uh is saying that you are a far-left parasite and giving you credit for winning this battle by default because, he said, conservatives strangely close - chose to sit out the fight now - now why would that be? (laughs)
BOEHLERT: Right. Not many people came to um, Dr. Laura's aid, that's for sure; I mean, we saw a couple of right-wing bloggers I think, because they are instinctively anything that Media Matters does they are opposed to, so they sort of instinctively came to her side. She's not part of the right-wing blogosphere in terms of politics and stuff; but, as you say, the right-wing stuff seeps into her show, she's been notoriously sort of anti-gay over the years...
RHODES: Right!
BOEHLERT: Um, so that's really the problem. Oh it's so offensive, she must be giving an - have an advice show and she's just like taping these sort of hateful, race-baiting talking points that we've seen popping up all over the place this summer. And now we've gotta hear this on an advice show?
Are conservatives ready to sit out the next battle and watch this happen all over again? Let's hope a key lesson has been learned.
After scoring amajor victory in their battle for talk radio censorship, "progressive" groups are now poised to take down as many hosts as possible. The cows are officially out of the barn. Moo!
The gloating is obvious to anyone visiting the smear organization's website, where it is made clear Laura blames them for her departure. And taking the cake in that department are the fringe extremists at StopDrLaura.com, where the headline reads "we stopped Dr Laura".
"My contract is up at the end of the year, and I have made the decision not to do radio anymore," Schlessinger said. "The reason is, I want to regain my First Amendment rights. I want to be able to say what is on my mind."
Another conservative voice silenced? You bet. Liberals will be claiming her scalp, and it will be sickening to watch in the next few hours and days ahead.
What was the right thinking in avoiding this battle?
Even more peculiar is how Dr Laura was actually defendedat least in partby several leftists at Huffington Post and elsewhere. Clearly, however, Schlessinger got the message she'd get no backing from conservatives and threw in the towel after 30 years of leading the fight against cultural decay in America.
Who can blame her for being disgusted?
From here, "progressives" now have more than one way to skin a cat: they can wait for the next Gotcha Game opportunity to pounce on individual talk hosts, knowing conservatives have shown they aren't ready for battle.
The second approach toward censorship is internal: with station managers typically on the left, lineups can be slowly watered-down until all traces of right-leaning programming have gone missing.
For an alarming example, just look to Tuesday's news that the Air America radio exec who saw the lefty network through to its demise has just been hired to run WMAL / Washington, a key affiliate for Limbaugh, Hannity and Levin in the nation's capital. Already, one influential regional broadcast industry site is calling on the programmer to remove conservatives and add failed libtalkers to the lineup.
For now, conservatives are so far behind in this war that it's hard to see how the "progressive" left can fail. Is it really too late?
O'Donnell: Wasn't Sure I Could 'Survive' Gulf Oil Spill
RISKY ROSIE
After Another Odd Moment, Is She Truly Mainstream?
In his latest column,Bill O'Reilly wonders if Oprah knows what she's getting into by hiring Rosie O'Donnell as a daytime TV host. Joining the fray, Donald Trump has even stronger views here.
Though their concerns seem absolutely on the mark, the truth may be far more disturbing: O'Donnell and Winfrey might be more in sync than previously understood.
During Friday's satellite-based Rosie Radio program, for example, O'Donnell featured one of Oprah's favorite interview subjects, New Age philosopher Byron Katie (interesting post-hire timing here).
Whether there to help Rosie score points with the Big O or provide life-changing guidance, Katie seemed to bring out her absolute worst, with this breathtaking revelation the result: "when the oil spill happened, I thought to myself, 'Will I survive this?'"
Here's the clip from Friday's program:
This incident should provide a starting point for further examination of the price of admission into Oprah's club. Does it require an adherence to Winfrey's belief system, however distant from the mainstream that might be? Or was Rosie already there?
Is it possible that Oprah knew EXACTLY what she was getting in hiring O'Donnell? If so, the continuing expansion of the former's media empire (into a new network called OWN) should be considered that much more disturbing.
Forget hot-headed (possibly intoxicated) flight attendants, the real award for courage under fire this week goes to Dr Laura Schlessinger, who is now being raked over the coals by the State-Run Media and the left's professional Gotcha Game hucksters.
Nappy-headed ho's, this ain't.
For daring to have a frank discussion on race with an African-American caller and pointing to irritating media double-standards, Al Sharpton, Media Matters, Think Progress and the rest of the Professional Left have pounced on her. Liberal sites (staffed mostly by white males) are using the most unflattering images available via a Google search, while claiming a "history" of racism on her show.
Far-left smear merchants at Media Matters purport to have a correct version of the audio, found below (if another version appears later, we'll add it):
Amazingly, Media Matters includes in their transcript the very "N-word" that supposedly can't be mentioned in a discussion about racial politics! Are they (again, mostly a bunch of white guys) somehow excused from the Gotcha Game?
Here, in fact, Huffington Post runs a censored version of the Media Matters piece.
DR LAURA SCHLESSINGER: Well, can you give me an example of a racist comment? 'Cause sometimes people are hypersensitive. So tell me what's -- give me two good examples of racist comments.
CALLER: OK. Last night -- good example -- we had a neighbor come over, and this neighbor -- when every time he comes over, it's always a black comment. It's, "Oh, well, how do you black people like doing this?" And, "Do black people really like doing that?" And for a long time, I would ignore it. But last night, I got to the point where it --
SCHLESSINGER: I don't think that's racist.
CALLER: Well, the stereotype --
SCHLESSINGER: I don't think that's racist. No, I think that --
CALLER: [unintelligible]
SCHLESSINGER: No, no, no. I think that's -- well, listen, without giving much thought, a lot of blacks voted for Obama simply 'cause he was half-black. Didn't matter what he was gonna do in office, it was a black thing. You gotta know that. That's not a surprise. Not everything that somebody says -- we had friends over the other day; we got about 35 people here -- the guys who were gonna start playing basketball. I was gonna go out and play basketball. My bodyguard and my dear friend is a black man. And I said, "White men can't jump; I want you on my team." That was racist? That was funny.
CALLER: How about the N-word? So, the N-word's been thrown around --
SCHLESSINGER: Black guys use it all the time. Turn on HBO, listen to a black comic, and all you hear is nigger, nigger, nigger.
CALLER: That isn't --
SCHLESSINGER: I don't get it. If anybody without enough melanin says it, it's a horrible thing; but when black people say it, it's affectionate.
CALLER: So it's OK to say "nigger"?
SCHLESSINGER: -- and not enough sense of humor.
CALLER: It's OK to say that word?
SCHLESSINGER: It depends how it's said.
CALLER: Is it OK to say that word? Is it ever OK to say that word?
SCHLESSINGER: It's -- it depends how it's said. Black guys talking to each other seem to think it's OK.
CALLER: But you're not black. They're not black. My husband is white.
SCHLESSINGER: Oh, I see. So, a word is restricted to race. Got it. Can't do much about that.
CALLER: I can't believe someone like you is on the radio spewing out the "nigger" word, and I hope everybody heard it.
SCHLESSINGER: I didn't spew out the "nigger" word.
CALLER: You said, "Nigger, nigger, nigger."
SCHLESSINGER: Right, I said that's what you hear.
CALLER: Everybody heard it.
SCHLESSINGER: Yes, they did.
CALLER: I hope everybody heard it.
SCHLESSINGER: They did, and I'll say it again --
CALLER: So what makes it OK for you to say the word?
SCHLESSINGER: -- nigger, nigger, nigger is what you hear on HB --
CALLER: So what makes it --
SCHLESSINGER: Why don't you let me finish a sentence?
CALLER: OK.
SCHLESSINGER: Don't take things out of context. Don't double N -- NAACP me. Tape the --
And despite millions in backing from George Soros and other wealthy individuals on the far left, "progressive" smear groups have yet to bag a conservative talk host (as in permanent cancellation).
Removing Dr Laura from the airwaves might justify their sad existence, leading to lucrative future contributions from billionaires and continued employment for hundreds of generally-useless "progressive" malcontents.
THAT'S what Robert Gibbs meant by "Professional Left"! This is primarily about MONEY, not race.
Even more annoying is the extreme reluctance by spineless "conservatives" who are busy making excuses for not mentioning this story today. "She's brought this upon herself" and "she's not one of us" are what we've heard most often (during past flaps). Avoiding the debate out of fear accomplishes nothing.
Unlike the"nappy-headed" Don Imus Show incident (which truly DID come across as mean-spirited and racist), Dr Laura is simply remaining true to form here, with a longstanding tough-love approach to advice talk. Schlessinger advocates overcoming sensitivity as a means to finding happiness.
Beyond that, however, one senses real frustration emanating from Dr Laura over racial hypocrisy in the Obamist era. As her rant continues, it resembles venting as much as advice for the caller, who by that point is clearly upset.
The bottom line: we've elected a black president, yet silly cultural hang-ups remain that prevent an honest and frank discussion about race relations. Rather than promote this kind of constructive change, the Smear Patrol plays the Gotcha Game for fun and (especially) profit.
They're the REAL threat to American society, NOT Dr Laura, who is simply doing her job (to entertain, inform, generate ratings and revenue).
Libtalker Blasts Conservative Critics Over Violent Rhetoric Complaint
THE REAL JOKE
Without Us, Who'd Pay Attention To Libtalk?
Sure enough, our libtalk friends admit it's all a game.
Desperate for attention, they'll say or do anything to generate much-needed publicity. If that requires threatening political opponents, so be it.
And if we add a silly element such as gender-reassignment to the mix, that excuses the remainder of our kooky rant, right?
How dare those right-wing "morons" take the bait and object to our drunken violence fantasies:
STEPHANIE MILLER (3:53): Can I speak of my love for Aisha Tyler. She rocks the free world. So she’s on the radio show yesterday and then we’re on Larry King again last night. Hi-larious, first of all, we set off the right-wing moron alert system again. At this point it’s just a game, isn’t it?
We were like daring them yesterday, Hal and sure enough we’re all over the right wing web sites because they don’t get the joke so much is what the difficulty is. That Radio Equalizer guy.
LAVOIE: Yeah Brian Mul Muldoney or something.
MILLER: Yes that I heard Aisha and I made the big time and it went viral all over the Fox web sites and whatever.
SPARKS: Really?
MILLER: Yes because we’re violent liberals.
LAVOIE: Oh, how are you violent?
MILLER: Well, because Aisha Tyler said she wanted to kick Rush Limbaugh in the vagina.
LAVOIE: Oh and Michelle Malkin in the nuts.
MILLER: In the nuts yes and so but anyway hilarious like so we were just like laughing our asses off in hair and makeup over this and going and she goes ‘oh yeah right I’m threatening violence over imaginary body parts they don’t even have.’
Here's the real joke: without "right-wing web sites", no one would be writing about perpetually-struggling libtalkers and E-list lefty actresses. When was the last time Huffington Post or another "progressive" outfit took a break from the nonstop smear-fest and paid them some attention?
This site was often accused of attempting to destroy the ill-fated Air America Radio network, but in retrospect, we probably prolonged its life through continued attention it wasn't getting elsewhere.
But a lack of press and low ratings doesn't mean we should ignore their crazed outbursts, especially when conservatives are so frequently accused of promoting "hate radio".
Lefty Actress Threatens Rush Limbaugh, Michelle Malkin With Bodily Harm
JUST PLAIN NUT-TY
Actress, Libtalker In Crazed, Botched-Joke Yukfest
Whether drugs and alcohol influenced today's Stephanie Miller Show isn't clear, but the results were undoubtedly full of "botched jokes". With a performance less mature than a Captain Underpants novel, Miller and lefty actress Aisha Tyler yukked it up whilst the latter made violent threats.
THIS IS HILARIOUS STUFF!
Oops, nope, sorry, just can't click with this alleged "humor":
MILLER PRODUCER (24:00): I’m not sure, which is worse, if he actually believes all the crap he [Limbaugh] says, or if it’s just an act?
AISHA TYLER: I actually felt that way about Ann Coulter. She says the most outrageous things and I think sometimes she says them because she knows they’re going to get on. (Miller interrupts)
STEPHANIE MILLER: Of course, of course.
TYLER:I don’t know. I can’t decide either because okay it’s theater, so maybe there’s some kind of sophistication involved.
MILLER: I knew her years ago. I’ve said this many times on the air. She at some point went 'oh, I have to say crazier bleep to sell books.'
TYLER: Yeah, but now she’s being out-crazied by Michelle Malkin, who by the way, I would kick right in the nuts if I met her. [Miller and staff laughing]
So Michelle, don’t let me catch you at the Beverly Center cause right in the nut sack is where my foot’s going. Wear a cup, lady.
MILLER: Well unless they get rid of the Fourteenth Amendment and then all the anchor babies are gone so you’ll have to go somewhere else to kick her.
TYLER: If I ever meet Rush Limbaugh, I’m kicking him in his vagina.
When a conservative makes a similar crack, the left is OUTRAGED (!!!!!!!). When it originates with enlightened "progressives", however, it's a joke and the right merely lacks a sense of humor.
If the case for gay marriage is really about equal rights (or God forbid, LOVE), then how are we to process Rosie O'Donnell's own motivation for tying the knot?
During yesterday's Rosie Radio satellite broadcast, O'Donnell said George W Bush compelled her to "get on a plane and go get married" due to his supposed misplaced priorities.
Love? It apparently played no role in what Rosie freely admits was a partisan political stunt. As America invests so much energy in the controversy, isn't it time for more of this sort of candor?
We certainly have more pressing issues to deal with and the concept of "gay marriage" was pretty much invented inside San Francisco City Hall.
So what is this really about: civil rights, or undermining Republicans?
ROSIE O'DONNELL (25:29): George Bush, in the middle of a war, had an all-station news conference to announce how horrible it was for the safety of America that gay people were getting married in San Francisco, which pissed me off enough to get on a plane and go get married
[...]
It was like an act of... defiance ... If you're gonna count up everybody who you think is not of value and round 'em all up and slap a pink triangle on 'em
[...]
I just felt like I wanted to be counted amongst the people who [some] were saying were unworthy and not allowed to have the same rights as everyone else.
O'DONNELL (44:51): If you're a straight person and [same-sex marriage] offends you, call me and tell me why, [but] don't say because marriage is traditionally between a man and woman, because, frankly, that's such an old and tired line.
Rosie, America is "tired" of a draining debate initiated by fringe activists who clearly have suspect motives for pushing the issue. Thanks for cheapening marriage itself.
Libtalkers Slam Obama On Race Issues Harder Than Rush Limbaugh
UNFRIENDLY 'ALLIES'
Libtalkers Pounce On Obama Over Race
Though polls continue to show near-universal African-American support for Barack Obama, one wouldn't know it from listening to liberal talk radio. Both black and white libtalkers (in addition to their guests) have been increasingly critical of the president, especially on race issues.
For some time, we've been tracking the surprising dissentpopping up during Al Sharpton's syndicated radio show, for example, mostly from callers and guests.
In fact, some of libtalk's rhetoric is decidedly more extreme than anything ever (falsely or correctly) attributed to Rush Limbaugh.
Don't believe us? Listen for yourself:
DR BOYCE WATKINS (AL SHARPTON SHOW GUEST / ENTOURAGE) (20:30): I think more children have died, have been killed in Chicago over the past three or four years then there are that have died in Iraq, ah soldiers that have died in Iraq.
So, really what is fundamentally true here is that there is a state of emergency in Chicago and I would love to see the Obama Administration take some progressive action to help alleviate that situation the same way they would deal with this if kids were dying say on Harvard yard or in Martha’s Vineyard, or one of these other places that the rich hang out that President Obama does care about because let’s be clear President Obama is a cool brother, but he is a little bit elitist. He tends to take care of people from Harvard and Yale a little bit more then he takes care of the rest of us and that’s one of the things I have a problem with.
Also in the clip, veteran libtalker Lynn Samuels weighs in with her take on Obama and race:
LYNN SAMUELS (11:55): I think that Barack Obama hates black people.
SAMUELS (14:56): He hates black people because, number one, he wants to be the only big-shot black person. How fast did he throw Reverend Wright under the bus? Van Jones. Shirley Sherrod. Is he surrounded with black people? Somebody had to remind me Valerie Jarrett is black. And Eric Holder.
But they're kind of, I don't know, they're like his kind of black. They're number one physically not even so black, and they're people who managed to get into the position they're in. Which means they're not very politically active. They're not the way I think -- I don't know, they're not the kind of black people I like. They're like elitist, yuppie black people. So I think number one he wants to be the top black person, and number two, I think he hates these activist older blacks who fought for civil rights. The people who actually laid the groundwork for him to be the president -- he hates them.
SAMUELS (37:59): This man does not want to be black, does not want to be associated with being black, doesn't want black people around him. He has a real psychological, f---ed-up thing about his black half.
RUSH LIMBAUGH: Maxine Waters. "An ethics report released Monday found that Rep. Maxine Waters probably broke conflict-of-interest rules in urging federal aid for a bank where her husband had served on the board and owned hundreds of thousands of dollars in stock." Now, she said that she has not violated any House ethics rules, and the fact is she's violated the biggest House ethics rule, and that is, don't get caught. 'Cause once you get caught, we can't help you. So now there's another black Congress member, black caucus member who's under the gun ethically and I got a story coming up in the stack about the rift between the CBC, Congressional Black Caucus, and Obama, and how he's really not one of them, he's not down for the struggle, he's not one of them. It's an amazing piece. (interruption)
Well, they're mad that Charlie's being thrown under the bus. They're mad that Obama is helping to throw Charlie under the bus, like, "It's time to go with dignity." The black caucus, if the truth be known, has never been happy with the administration when it comes to the jobs agenda. Black unemployment is skyrocketing. It's astronomically high. And they've said two or three times publicly, "Mr. President, where's the laser-like focus on black jobs?"
[...]
Pelosi and Obama offering no words of support, no words of encouragement. Now Pelosi's out there doing the okey-dokey trying to bamboozle the CBC, trying to hoodwink 'em while Obama's out there saying that the Republicans are trying to do the bamboozling. The bamboozling is being done by Pelosi. To paraphrase Reverend Wright, 'cause he was right here: "Obama ain't never been called a Negro." But the CBC guys have been. Well, in their lives they have been. Obama in his life hasn't been. I mean we're paraphrasing Reverend Wright. This is a serious, serious thing here.
When you have the Washington Post writing about this, and when you have various members of the powerful political operative media debating what the outcome of this is going to be, it falls upon me to put at all in perspective. It's very simple. When Pelosi is finished there won't be a Congressional Black Caucus. It's going to be the Congressional Caucasian Caucus, and that's it on the Democrat side.
I'M CONFUS-ED Schultz Can't Decide Whether To Vote Ten Times Or Not At All
Introducing America's most confused voter: Ed Schultz.
Just months after advocating ballot-stuffing in order to keep Scott Brown from winning in Massachusetts, the MSNBC libtalker is now pushing a 2010 midterm election boycott.
Why the switch? Because Schultz feels Democrats haven't done enough to combat Republicans who have objected to near-perpetual unemployment benefits. Building an alliance of "99ers" (claimants who've reached a maximum payout of 99 weeks), Big Ed wants to pressure Dems into "running over" the GOP.
Singled out is Harry Reid, who Schultz believes doesn't deserve to be re-elected.
Here's what he told radio listeners during Friday's program:
ED SCHULTZ (30 JULY 2010 HOUR ONE) (04:58): And I'm announcing today, I'm not going to vote in the midterms. I'm not going to do it. You can say it's un-American. No, it's rather revolutionary is what it is. I'm at that point. I'm checking out.
I'm checking out of the Democrats because they are proving to me that they don't know how to handle these big babies over on the right that say no. You know what you do? You get in the driver's seat, you hit the throttle, and you run over them.
ROSIE O'DONNELL (1:49:58): I was on the news last night, apparently, because I said that I didn't think a sitting president should be on a fluffy daytime talk show.
JANETTE BARBER (executive producer): It's weird, 'cause what'd we talk about that, for twenty seconds, and it ends up everywhere?
O'DONNELL (1:51:32): The thing that gets me is, he's on The View, and the oil is still leaking...It seems like a frivolous thing to do, to go on a daytime talk show. Like, do a sitdown interview, hold a national press conference, get Barbara Walters to do a one-on-one... BARBER: To me, all politicians ever do anymore is campaign...
