Move America Forward Head Loses Morning Host Position

MELANIE MORGAN FIRED

KSFO/ San Francisco Host Removed Without Warning

***4pm: Major Update Below***

Sackings are becoming routine at ABC Radio, where conservative morning show host Melanie Morgan has been yanked from San Francisco's KSFO-AM without warning. What happened?

In a statement to Move America Forward supporters, an activist organization she heads, Morgan said she was unexpectedly asked to return her door access card Friday.

After contract renegotiations between station management and her agent hit an impasse late in the week, Disney/ABC suits simply pulled the plug and kicked her out of Mickey's Front Street Mouse Pad.

As word leaked out late in the weekend, some (such as SactoDan, here) wondered if it was merely a publicity stunt for KSFO, but that's exactly what was said about Michael Graham when he disappeared from WMAL/Washington.

Graham didn't return to WMAL and his supervisor departed as well, after a flap involving the former's on-air Islam comments.

Adding to the strange circumstances in San Francisco: today in broadcast trade publication Inside Radio, an ad seeking a new KSFO program director was published. Respondents were to send materials to Operations Manager Jack Swanson, who happens to be Morgan's husband.

From Morgan's public statement:

My contract with KSFO was set to expire on Friday. My agent had been in negotiations with the station manager of KSFO (an ABC owned and operated station).

We had already worked out the 'big issues' - I had agreed to a very small increase in salary and did not have any major demands. I thought everything would be routine.

During my time at KSFO we have emerged as one of the highest rated local radio programs in the nation. Certainly the station had to appreciate that!?!

But, for some reason, the negotiations hit a brick wall and I was asked to accept a number of bizarre compromises. My agent tried to work through the issues but I was told that for some reason the station was playing hardball. I was told on Thursday that Friday morning would be my last day of employment. I was to turn in my ABC card key that allowed me access to the building.

Given what happened recently to another prominent ABC radio talk show host (Michael Graham of WMAL-Washington D.C. was just fired from his job) I obviously have been quite uncertain about what my fate will be.

My agent and I have been in contact with the station management. Since I announced on the air on Friday that my employment with KSFO was over the station has been flooded with phone calls and emails. I am hopeful that in the coming week we can come to an agreement on the issues that remain. Until then I will be off the air.

Removing a low-rated show from the airwaves is one thing, but Morgan, with co-host Lee Rodgers, have enjoyed a track record of substantial success.

One of the few talkers to avoid big recent ratings losses, KSFO has fended off competition with ease. A major part of this audience dominance and loyalty has come from the morning show.

Morgan's activism through her highly successful political organization, Move America Forward, has been key to keeping KSFO strong, the Radio Equalizer believes. When listeners feel hosts are doing more than just talking, a stronger bond is created that carries over to increased listenership.

With Move America Forward repeatedly in the headlines over the summer for organized efforts to counter Cindy Sheehan's Texas circus, support our troops in Washington and visit them in Iraq, one wonders if ABC's notoriously liberal suits could no longer tolerate Morgan's political effectiveness.

Because talk radio's talent pool is now down to nearly zero, finding an experienced, entertaining replacement will be next to impossible.

The Radio Equalizer is requesting comment from ABC, any response will be noted here.

UPDATE: Apparently, there was an instant outcry from KSFO listeners and activists around the country, who immediately demanded Melanie's reinstatement. Late word is that a deal has been reached for her return tomorrow.

Did ABC wish to avoid another round of bad publicity? Is this any way to treat top-level air talent? What a rollercoaster ride for Morgan.

UPDATE: Morgan has issued an exclusive statement to the Radio Equalizer:

"I was pretty stunned. Never saw it coming. Negotiations were routine, until I got a call Thursday evening that I was not to report on-air Monday morning.

But here's the good news:

Negotiations resumed Friday, and today Mickey Luckoff and I have agreed to new contract terms.

I expect to return to the airwaves tomorrow morning.

And what was especially gratifying is how quickly listeners from all around the country and especially here in the Bay Area reacted to the news of my 'demise.' Hundreds and hundreds of phone calls, e-mail by the thousands. Faxes too numerous to count.

That plus several job offers makes me feel pretty terrific.

I was saddened that the senior management at ABC chose such a drastic solution to what was essentially a done deal.

But the momentary madness is over, and I am safely ensconced behind the microphone for the next two-and-a-half years.

And that's a good thing, I've got a lot more jujitsu moves to practice on the left-wing whackos around the country."

Good to hear these sometimes do have happy endings.

  • This is a stunner.

Melanie Morgan has done more for patriotism the past few months than any other talk show host.

Cindy Sheehan is probably doing some dance right about now.

  • Hey Melanie, contact Greater Media in Boston...they may or may not get to keep Jay Severin once his national show starts, but if not...Or call
    up Entercom (WRKO).

    you'd be welcomed here.

  • If Babs Simpson is the replacement, I may start to wander. I will stick with Lee Rodgers but if he went, the door knob would not hit my butt. I might even start sleeping later.

  • From my reading, Melanie Morgan was the Queen Mother of Recallifornia.

Man, this is a big mistake. Make that a huge mistake.

Oh well, if only KIRO can scoop her up or KVI... or KTTH.

By Blogger Josef, at 03 October, 2005 15:33

  • Expect KNEW to grab onto her, ala Michael Savage.

  • Well, She got her job back at least.

Wrong on KNEW, but right on her getting her job back.

  • YEAH!

Bye Kirby Wilbur, Hello Melanie Morgan on my morning streaming talk radio/sanity dosage! :-)

We (heart) you Melanie for standing up to Cindy Sheehan when others won't.

  • Mel still needs a backup blog just in case.

By Blogger Walter E. Wallis, at 03 October, 2005 22:22

  • Somehow, this is ABC's doing--look the house of mouse owns KSFO as well as WMAL--remember Michael Graham and the trouble he got in with those Islamo-fascists called CAIR?

Sheehan has gotten her revenge for now. It's time for Mel to pony up and go somewhere else. Perhaps KNEW would work or how about she come East. We could use some more like her to take on the Communists here in New England!

  • Good work Brian. It is nice to know even liberals can see the "writing on the wall" and listened to their "customers"

  • So glad to hear that Melanie is back on the air. She was one of the first to sign on with Roger Hedgecock's "Hold Their Feet to the Fire" April lobbying trip to DC on the illegal immigration fiasco. Even though I live outside her station's listening area, I support her visible patriotism and devotion to truth and justice. Hooray! Thanks to Brian for posting about this situation.

  • Hi there. How have you been? It's good to hear that Melanie has her job back. I just hope she asks for more money if it's because of all the heat! lol. Have a great day.

  • Praise the Lord that Melanie Morgan is back on the air!!!! What is right is right..What is fair is fair..

  • Oh yea...ABC got their ' chessnuts ' caught up in the fire over this one.

Simple screwup my *****! They tried to pull a fast on here, at Melanies expense. Probably as I said on another blog site: Pay back for HTFTTF and the MAF Tour against the sheehan twits.

ABC?? In case you don't get it??
It's the AUDIENCE that makes the show work. NOT the sponsors.

    Welcome Back Melanie!!!

  • Good for Melanie. Where can I get her program in Baltimore, Maryland ?
    Bill in Timonium, MD

  • Claiming to be an advocate for truth, Melanie Morgan labels opponents of the Iraq war as 'anti-military' and 'anti-troop'. This is not truth, it is a leader who makes use of popular prejudices and false claims and promises in order to gain support. Most who oppose the war Bush concocted oppose the war. It is that simple. Stop calling them 'anti-military' and 'anti-troop'. This is anti-truth.

By Blogger Dr. Ed, at 04 October, 2005 17:05

  • Melanie Morgan crosses the line of truth when claiming that those who are against the Iraq war are "anti-troop" and "anti-military". This is not patriotism, it is demagoguery.

By Blogger Dr. Ed, at 04 October, 2005 17:06

  • Most who oppose the war Bush concocted oppose the war

Wow Dr. Ed. That's some good kool-aid.
Did you know that most people the like the chocolate Hershey makes like the chocolate?
Many "anti-war" groups, like Code Pink and ANSWER, are demonstrably anti-America.

By Blogger SCSIwuzzy, at 04 October, 2005 17:21

  • Dr. Ed you are, quite simply, wrong. Anyone can say they support our troops, but if you don't support their mission you don't support them. Because the only way these amazing men and women are not going to accomplish their mission, i.e. win the War, is if the American people lose the will to protect themselves. And then those that have already given their lives and those who have been permanently disabled will have done so in vain - just like their 58,000 brothers and sisters in Vietnam.
So cut the Anti-American bull and start supporting our troops for real.

By Blogger Nelson, at 04 October, 2005 18:26

  • BTW, Congrats Mel.

By Blogger Nelson, at 04 October, 2005 18:29

  • The anti-war crowd is solidly anti-troop. Evidence is Code Pink protesting outside of a military hospital and screaming at wounded troops trying to recover. Evidence is when Cindy Sheehan claims this country is not worth dying for, which degrades the sacrifice of our troops including her own son. Evidence is when Hillary Clinton, as first lady, objected to Marines wearing their dress uniforms on official duties in DC. Evidence is when Dick Durbin openly slanders the entire military and not a single Democrat tells him to sit down and shut up. Evidence is when liberals say Bush is killing children in Iraq, which of course means the troops are pulling the trigger. I am a veteran and I hate the left because the left hates me.

  • Melanie Morgan must have as much enthusiasm for joining the USO and visting the troops in Iraq as Al Franken. I mean, he's just an anti-war, anti-troop, anti-American comedian. Whereas our Melanie is 100% behind our troops.

Do you think a flood of calls and emails into KSFO could be organized to convince her to sign up?

By Blogger HeadHunter, at 04 October, 2005 20:49

  • Congrats on returning Melanie! I have followed your efforts for over three years - I was in L.A. area at Pepperdine University obtaining my Masters, listened to Hannity and occassionally heard you on the air with Sean. Never got your show down my way, but followed Move America Forward online and contributed when I could. I endured liberal lunacy during the 2004 election process, even volunteering at the Malibu Republican headquarters (though I'm an independent). I'm now back in Ann Arbor MI - another bastion of liberal idiocy (thanks to Univ of Michigan and hundreds of 60s hippies holding out for the "peace" they never saw decades ago) but a great place to live that does have some conservativism rising up again. Anyway, just wanted to express my relief that you're back doing what you do best. Though, I must admit that I'd love to hear you in the Midwest. But the Bay Area desperately needs voices of sanity like you and Savage, so keep it up!!

    God bless you -

  • As the great Lee Rodgers once emailed to me as advice about getting into the radio biz, "...bottom line, it's a business. It's money and not ideology that drive a radio station..."

Trying to dump Mel was really stupid from a business standpoint because Lee, Mel and OV rake in the bucks. Period. End of story.

True liberal idealogues need socialism to survive because they make business choices based on their ideology...and that makes them lousy capitalists...fer sure!

God bless you, Mel...keep rakin' in the bucks and holdin' their feet to the fire!

  • Congrats Mel! Glad to hear that you're back on the air. It was such a relief to listen to your show this morning on the way into work. Keep up the fight against the left wing nutcases out there and we will all continue to support you!

Here's another real perpective from a US Marine 3 star that all the lefto's out there will never understand. We didn't ask for the war on terror but we are the only country with the will to WIN IT!!! NO QUARTER AND NO APOLOGIES!!!

This "Letter of Apology" was written by Lieutenant General Chuck Pitman, US Marine Corps, Retired:

"For good and ill, the Iraqi prisoner abuse mess will remain an issue. On the one hand, right thinking Americans will abhor the stupidity of the actions while on the other hand, political glee will take control and fashion this
minor event into some modern day massacre.

I humbly offer my opinion here:

I am sorry that the last seven times we Americans took up arms and
sacrificed the blood of our youth, it was in the defense of Muslims
(Bosnia, Kosovo, Gulf War 1, Kuwait, etc.).

I am sorry that no such call for an apology upon the extremists came after
    9/11.

I am sorry that all of the murderers on 9/11 were Islamic Arabs.

I am sorry that most Arabs and Muslims have to live in squalor under savage dictatorships.

I am sorry that their leaders squander their wealth.

I am sorry that their governments breed hate for the US in their religious schools, mosques, and government-controlled media.

I am sorry that Yassar Arafat was kicked out of every Arab country and high-jacked the Palestinian "cause."

I am sorry that no other Arab country will take in or offer more than a token amount of financial help to those same Palestinians.

I am sorry that the USA has to step in and be the biggest financial
supporter of poverty stricken Arabs while the insanely wealthy Arabs blame the USA for all their problems.

I am sorry that our own left wing, our media, and our own brainwashed
masses do not understand any of this (from the misleading vocal elements of our society like radical professors, CNN and the NY TIMES).

I am sorry the United Nations scammed the poor people of Iraq out of the "food for oil" money so they could get rich while the common folk suffered.

I am sorry that some Arab governments pay the families of homicide bombers upon their death.

I am sorry that those same bombers are brainwashed thinking they will
    receive 72 virgins in "paradise."

I am sorry that the homicide bombers think pregnant women, babies,
children, the elderly and other noncombatant civilians are legitimate targets.

I am sorry that our troops die to free more Arabs from the gang rape rooms and the filling of mass graves of dissidents of their own making.

I am sorry that Muslim extremists have killed more Arabs than any other group.

I am sorry that foreign trained terrorists are trying to seize control of Iraq and return it to a terrorist state.

I am sorry we don't drop a few dozen Daisy cutters on Fallujah.

I am sorry every time terrorists hide they find a convenient "Holy Site."

I am sorry they didn't apologize for driving a jet into the World Trade Center that collapsed and severely damaged Saint Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church - one of our Holy Sites.

I am sorry they didn't apologize for flight 93 and 175, the USS Cole, the embassy bombings, the murders and beheadings of Nick Berg and Daniel Pearl,
    etc....etc!

I am sorry Michael Moore is American; he could feed a medium sized village in Africa.

America will get past this latest absurdity. We will punish those
responsible because that is what we do.

We hang out our dirty laundry for the entire world to see. We move on.
That's one of the reasons we are hated so much. We don't hide this stuff like all those Arab countries that are now demanding an apology.

Deep down inside, when most Americans saw this reported in the news, we were like - so what? We lost hundreds and made fun of a few prisoners. Sure, it was wrong, sure, it dramatically hurts our cause, but until captured we
were trying to kill these same prisoners. Now we're supposed to wring our hands because a few were humiliated?

Our compassion is tempered with the vivid memories of our own people
killed, mutilated and burnt amongst a joyous crowd of celebrating Fallujahans.

If you want an apology from this American, you're going to have a long wait!

You have a better chance of finding those seventy-two virgins.

Chuck Pitman Lieutenant General, USMC (Ret)

  • Censorship comes disguised in many forms. The most vile and hypocritical is when a free-market media attempts to silence popular, responsible opinions. Given the popularity of the KSFO Morning Show with Lee Rogers and Melanie Morgan, ABC's firining of Melanie is comparable to activist judges overturning the results of a popular vote of the people for their (judges) own political agenda. If KSFO ever tries to exert this type of totalitarian, Communist control over the airwaves again, I will disable 560 on my radio so that I never listen to KSFO again - not even to Raider football broadcasts.

By Blogger ptdaifu, at 05 October, 2005 13:48

  • ...ABC's firining of Melanie is comparable to activist judges overturning the results of a popular vote of the people for their (judges) own political agenda.

I agree absolutely. The Supreme Court should have completely stayed out of deciding the 2000 election. Then we wouldn't have had to endure this incompetent failed President.

By Blogger HeadHunter, at 05 October, 2005 14:33

  • In Phil's world, it is completely OK for the FL Supreme Court to overide state law, but very, very wrong to appeal to a higher court as a result.

By Blogger SCSIwuzzy, at 05 October, 2005 15:13

  • Geesh! Do you have even the faintest clue? Demonstrate right here right now that the FLSC overrode FL state law.

By Blogger HeadHunter, at 05 October, 2005 17:52

  • Glad to hear things are resolved. I tuned to KSFO for their morning show. They are one of 3 on the web that are the best.

By Blogger VirtualBeach, at 06 October, 2005 10:05

  • Wow Phil. Struck a nerve, huh?
For a guy who cannot even be civil for a single post, you are very quick to make demands. Reminds me of my 3 year old god-son when I told him to turn off the Wiggles over the weekend.

The state legislature, in both the US and and Florida constitutions, have authority to determine electors and election procedures. What the FL Supremes did was throw out the equal protection rights of the people of Florida, by allowing cherry picked hand recounts of select counties and not others.
Per the US Constitution: "Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct"
Article II, Section 1 gives the states exclusive jurisdiction over the method of selecting electors, any construction that ignores legislative intent because of a state provision would violate the U.S. Constitution and be invalidated.
    Then there was Tilden-Hayes...

By Blogger SCSIwuzzy, at 06 October, 2005 11:44

  • LOL

Your pathetically researched explanation further confirms you have no clue. No wonder... if all you do is watch the Wiggles with 3 year old kids.

Contrary to your original assertion that the FLSC rulings were "overrides" of FL state law, they were not.

The SCOTUS that ruled (7-2) that the FLSC rulings were not consistent with the equal protection clause of the XIV amendment of the US Constitution. This ruling in no way suggested that the FLSC "threw out" any rights for people of FL or that the FLSC rulings were inconsistent with FL state law.

The SCOTUS then ruled (5-4) to stop the recounts based on ensuring that the safe harbor deadline (Dec.12) set out 3 U.S.C. sect. 5. was met. In other words, after all the injunctions and delays, time had run out.

The Article II section 1 claim in Bush v. Gore that you cite where it was argued that the FLSC Florida Supreme Court acted contrary to the intent of the FL legislature was actually voted down (3-6). So much for your "override" claim.

In summary, there was no time left to manually recount all FL votes in accordance with a single standard in order to meet the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and meet the December 12 “safe harbor” deadline.

And let's not talk about the "scrub list" where eligble voters were erroneously removed from the rolls in a deliberate campaign by Florida Republicans. Or the voting machine problems in primarily democratic / African American areas.

By Blogger HeadHunter, at 06 October, 2005 15:13

  • Sorry Mr PhilM! But as usual, the "far left" gets left in its ideology and omits half the truth in order to make that ideology more believable. You and Michael Moore have forgot some important facts. But that is typical. He starts his "documentary" with the contention that Bush "stole" the election because of the Supreme Court decision. But, omitted from this "documentary" were the facts that two reporters representing Washington Post and New Your Times(hardly right-wing media) went to Florida ro "observe" the recount. They returned 6 months later with the conclusion that the courts decision made no difference in the rightful outcome of the election. One difference it did make, however, is that it kept America from a state of chaos and indecision during those several months of "questionable" transition.

So, welcome back Melanie. Continue to allow the truth to be heard over and above "far left" attempts at brainwashing the public with their ideologies.

By Blogger Gordon McCarty, at 07 October, 2005 06:51

  • Another uneducated uninformed wing-nut who simply hasn't got a clue.

There were three post-election recounts and analyses of the FL ballot. One by the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) funded by the Miami Herald and the Washington Post, one by BDO Seidman funded by USA Today, the Miami Herald, and Knight Ridder, and another by a larf=ger consortium which included USA Today, the Miami Herald, Knight Ridder, the Tampa Tribune, and five other newspapers.

The NORC analysis came back with these results if all FL ballots were counted using one of the following standards:
    - each county canvassing board standard -- Gore by 171
    - Completely punched chads and limited marks on optical ballots --Gore by 115
    - Any dimple or optical mark -- Gore by 107
    - One corner of chad or optical mark -- Gore by 60

The BDO Seidman analysis came back with these results:
    - Lenient standard -- Bush by 1,665
    - Palm Beach standard -- Bush by 884
    - Two-corner standard -- Bush by 363
    - Strict standard -- Gore won by 3.

The results of the larger newspaper consortium's analyis were:
    - Lenient standard -- Gore by 332
    - Palm Beach standard -- Gore by 242
    - Two-corner standard -- Bush by 407
    - Strict standard -- Bush by 152

So the results of these analyses were inconclusive. The winner in a staewide recount would depend on which single standard was chosen under the requirement of the XIV Amendment, and even then it could go either way.

But an important factor which influenced the outcome were the scrub lists; a deliberate campaign to remove eligible African Americans from voting rolls. Katherine Harris was sued by the NAACP because of this in 2002 and the suit was settled in the NAACP's favor.

There were also the overseas ballots which should have been invalid because they had no postmarks or information was incomplete (some fixed by poll workers). Republicans fought successfully to have these invalid ballots included in the count.

Then there were the voting machine irregularities. 179,855 ballots were not counted because they were rejects. The reject mechanisms on voting machines were enabled in Republican areas and disabled in Democratic areas. Subsequently more faulty ballots came from Democratic areas.

If you think the FL election was just peachy and there were no problems, then why were there subsequent measures at federal election reform?

You haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Go back to listening to Morgan's propaganda.

By Blogger HeadHunter, at 07 October, 2005 12:23

  • It seems once again Mr Phil that you need to get your facts straight. Attempts at "overwhelming" the opposition with "statistics" is also typical of the "far left". They hope to bombard you with so much "data" that you get lost in the maze of figures thus rendering you unable to reply. However, let me reply with the following tidbits of information.

It's source has nothing to do with Melanie. It came long before I know of her existance. But, now that I am aware of her, I clearly see that she does stick to the truth and not the trivia.

My information is the following: A six month study by The Washington Post, CNN and The New York Times determined that in ALL scenarios persured by Al Gore, Bush would've won even if the Supreme Court had not stepped in. (http://nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnist/27166.htm).

Now, regarding your claim of deliberate removal of votes of Black Americans. You seem to wallow in Moore's claims and implications. He said: "...the state has hired a company that is going to knock voters off the rolls who are not going to vote for you. You can usually tell them by the color of their skin." That is another of Michael Moore's bits of propaganda implying elimination of black vote. As far is skin color is concerned, this statement is a blatant lie. Moore refers to a company called "Data Base Technologies" that was hired to remove convicted felons from the voter rolls. Their process had serious flaws. As a result, at least 20 counties ignored their purge lists and allowed thousands of convicted felons to vote who shouldn't have been able to do so. Statistically, the large majority of felons voted Democratic. So, in fact, this error helped Gore not Bush. (http://www.commondreams.org/headlines01/0527-03.htm) It had everything to do with felons who do not have the right to vote and nothing to do with black Americans that do have the right to vote.

Let me add one final personal note. A very close associate of mine has an insiders position on the film industry. He had the following to say about the Fahrenheit 911 "documentary" and it's author.
    1) It was not at all a documentary but "a brainwash attempt using mostly "canned" filming. His technique is to string together bits of facts, change the timing sequence, ignore any facts that don't support his agenda, add a dose of ominous music and commentary, and Voila! Out comes a "Documentary"."
    2) His second comment was: "Of all the people I have worked with, around, and for in the film industry Michael Moore has got to be the biggest '____ hole' I have ever met. His work is a reflection of his sick personage."

So keep on with your numbers games. I will stick to the summarized truth.

  • They hope to bombard you with so much "data" that you get lost in the maze of figures thus rendering you unable to reply.

I understand if you're not up to the task of getting through what is really quite simple stuff. But I didn't really expect it from a stupid wingnut like you anyway.

My information is the following: A six month study by The Washington Post, CNN and The New York Times determined that in ALL scenarios persured by Al Gore, Bush would've won even if the Supreme Court had not stepped in. (http://nypost.com/postopinion/opedcolumnist/27166.htm).

First, that link to the NY Pest goes nowhere. Second, you are referring to the NORC survey and analysis that I included in my previous post. And third, did you go beyond the headlines and even read or try to understand the NORC findings?

Read the NORC results, stupid. In each of the scenarios where a single statewide standard was used (in accordance with the first SCOTUS ruling vis a vis the XIV Amendment) to tabulate the votes, Gore wins. In each of the scenarios that used recounts of only select counties, only undervotes, or different county based standards (as per FLSC rulings), then Bush wins.

That's the irony of the whole story, moron. Both Gore and Bush were actually pursuing claims that turned out in the end to be against each of their interests. The first SCOTUS ruling (7-2 that the recounts be applied to all FL votes complying to one statewide standard via XIV Amendment) which was originally pursued by Bush would have actually given the election to Gore.

It was the second SCOTUS ruling (5-4 to stop all recounts based on ensuring that the safe harbor deadline (Dec.12) set out 3 U.S.C. sect. 5. was met) that gave the election to Bush (based on the original certified results as of Nov. 26, 2000) and which was more evenly split along partisan lines. In effect, Bush was handed the election because time had run out.

You seem to wallow in Moore's claims and implications...

I haven't got a clue why you keep bleating on and on about Moore. I don't know why you're connecting him to the 2000 election in FL.

...a company called "Data Base Technologies" that was hired to remove convicted felons from the voter rolls. Their process had serious flaws. As a result, at least 20 counties ignored their purge lists and allowed thousands of convicted felons to vote who shouldn't have been able to do so.

Again... did you actually read the entire article? Felon purge sacrificed innocent voters. You just cherry-picked one line out of the article which - if you had actually read all of it - concluded that thousands of people were taken off voting rolls when they should not have been. It includes testimony from DBT/ChoicePoint management about how FL State officials directed DBT to continually loosen matching criteria in an effort to cast a wider net.

Also... After the election, an appeals process was established for people who believed that they were removed from voting rolls when they should not have been. Of the 4847 people who actually stepped forward and appealed, 2430 were judged not to be convicted felons. That's about a 50% error rate.

And again... the NAACP suit against FL Secretary of State was ruled in NAACP's favor. Do you get it yet?

As for your personal story, I never accept "a personal friend told me...", "insiders say...". It's the kind of BS that Maloney is always pulling. And I really couldn't give a shit about Michael Moore.
