ANOTHER 'HATE' BOOK

From The Left, Emotions At The Forefront

With such a consistently emotional choice of language, why do left-leaning political book authors work so hard to undermine their own efforts?

For whatever reason, something routinely compels so-called "progressives" in the book business to use words like "hate", "fat" and "idiot" in their titles.

As a result, even without opening the cover, the reader already has a strong indication that sound arguments will be lacking.

Otherwise, why resort to these playground- level emotional antics?

Now, following on the heels of such dubious titles as The I Hate Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Sean Hannity. . . Reader: The Hideous Truth About America's Ugliest Conservatives, by Clint Willis and Al Franken's Rush Limbaugh is a Big, Fat Idiot comes Sweet Jesus, I Hate Bill O'Reilly.

Yes, we're going to retake Congress this year by pointing out that our ideological opponents are "fat" and "idiots". Go ahead guys, give it a try.

To see how well this strategy has worked, we'll meet you on the other side of election day.

Sure enough, obsessed O'Reilly-hater Keith Olbermann couldn't wait to get the authors of Sweet Jesus on his MSNBC-based Countdown program. But when Joseph Amann and Tom Breuer actually appeared on Friday's show, they unsurprisingly had little to say about much of anything.

What was made clear, however: Amann and Breuer are Wisconsin-based ideologues with backgrounds in "alternative" leftist journalism.

Primarily emphasized in the segment was a recent error made on O'Reilly's show, where a newspaper publisher was confused with his deceased father.

While it's a bona fide mistake, we all make them. Because it opens up your own product to future criticism of a similar nature, however, it isn't a recommended road to travel.

Most in the media know that already, but not the increasingly- unhinged Olbermann.

Like Franken, Amann and Breuer foolishly push the "parody" concept, hoping it will stick. But what is funny about hate?

A glance at the book's index finds it thin in the references department, so don't expect a lot in the way of content. And because it leans left, Sweet Jesus benefits from undeserved attention by reviewers that often ignore conservative counterparts.

  • Do you see now, why I call myself "rightwingwhiner" Maloney is whining about books making fun of conservatives. Do "liberals" whine about books like "Liberalism is a mental disorder" or the latest Colter hate fest? No whining, just DEBUNKING the lies. Liberals debunk the lies, and conservatives cry and play victim. Conservatives have become exactly what they accuse "liberals" of doing, whining and playing victim. If conservatives can dish out hate, they better be prepared to take some themselves. Furthur proof that conservatives are whiners.

  • WHY DON'T YOU JUST SHUT UP? LIES?! Liberals have been caught in more lies and more hypocrisy than conservatives. Conservative books sell MORE than liberal ones--and I need not tell you about talk radio--UNLESS YOU SHILL FOR HOT AIR AMERICA!

IS LOVING YOUR COUNTRY AND FAMILY VALUES CONSIDERED HATE? TO PEOPLE LIKE YOU IT IS!

I am a neo-con and d**n proud to call myself one!

  • d**m? Do you mean "damn?"

hahaha, watch your language or your mommy's gonna be mad.

  • No he means dog-gon' or, more likely, just "darn".

  • hey patriot world , waaaa waaa, you little cry baby !!! Liberal books debunk lies, conservative books, personally attack liberals. This is a SIMPLE FACT. I read both sides, and the right personally attack LIBERALS, where the left, instead of personally attacking (say Limbaugh) debunks the lies and half truths. You are far from a patriot, you are a little whining mama's boy Bushie. Don't ever tell me to shut up, I will rip your whole little right wing facade into shreds.

  • rightwingwhiner:

Liberals are good at debunking lies that they create. They have already collectively displayed that they don't know what 'is' is or what 'sex' is and they certainly don't know what a 'lie' is. The left makes stuff up and if it is pointed out, it's a vast right-wing conspiracy, but if a conservative makes an error or can be taken out of context, the lie-experts on the left react with hysteria! If Bush said "I'm a good swimmer" and then proceeded to walk across the water, the left would spend years claiming that Bush lied about being able to swim!

  • O'Reilly is an idiot. He smeared a guy that has been dead 3½ years

all statements made by the RIGHT and DEBUNKED. Nobody makes this sh*t up, everything debunked by the left is taken right out of the right wing media. Not made up. You just can not handle the truth. You are lied to on a daily basis, by a bunch of talk radio clowns and off the mic, they show nothing but contempt for their listeners. I know, Im on the inside

By Blogger rightwingwhiner, at 01 May, 2006 10:57

  • Sorry, I don't listen to much talk radio so if your analysis is as accurate as your generalizations, then you need to worry about where you are getting your own propoganda from. mediamatters would be one place to start your self-examination. mediamatters spends a lot of time disagreeing with conservatives and passes that off as 'corrections', ultimately doing the very thing that you accuse the right wing media of doing.

If you want a blanket defense of ALL conservative pundits, you're pressing the buttons of the wrong guy (there are some who I think are just as pathetic as left-wing sources like mediamatters), but don't try to highlight one joke by presenting another.

What exactly are you on the 'inside' of?

  • What exactly are you on the 'inside' of?

David Brock's colon, it would seem.

  • media matters is fact based to the fullest extent. Why are you terrified of the fact that the right lies, the left debunks? and patriot world, is a perfect example of a right wing liar, who for months on end still posts the same lie "plame is not covert" over and over and over

  • Do you see now, why I call myself "rightwingwhiner" Maloney is whining about books making fun of conservatives. Do "liberals" whine about books like "Liberalism is a mental disorder" or the latest Colter hate fest?

At some length, yes. I seem to remember the left being all upset about the "hate" of Clinton in the 1990's.

Clinton hasn't dealt with a tiny fraction of what Bush has.

    Just saying.

No whining, just DEBUNKING the lies.

    Such as when?

This is a SIMPLE FACT. I read both sides, and the right personally attack LIBERALS, where the left, instead of personally attacking (say Limbaugh) debunks the lies and half truths.

Hmm, missed the discussions of Bush, Rush, O'Reilly, Delay, et al over the last --- oh, 5 or so years, eh?

    mediamatters.com

    BWA HA HA HA!

Media Matters? Seriously, you are citing THEM? BWA HA HA HA HA!

David Brock, on his best day (before he had to be sent to the "quiet room") was a hack.

Media Matters --- exposing the brutal reality that conservative pundits express opinions that are conservative.

    Truly impressive stuff.

Let's look at the front page RIGHT NOW (Tuesday. 11:34P EDT).

Hmm, griping that the press didn't hype up the fact that Colbert bombed this weekend.

Robertson is bad for noting that Islam is violent.

Hmm, they believe Iran has no real plans for a nuclear program.

Hmm, another piece upset that a piece that believes Bush has no right to ignore legislation that illegally takes away his Constitutional powers need not be respected (with them being, you know, unconstitutional and all)

The press just FAWNED over Bush when Saddam's regime toppled. Yeah, OK. Sure.

"Mission Accomplished" was bad because the ship's crew asked the WH to get it made for them.

Yep, those are some good pursuits of truth, there.

media matters is fact based to the fullest extent.

Umm, yeah. Of course it is. Attacking opinion is easy, I guess. Pointless, but easy.

and patriot world, is a perfect example of a right wing liar, who for months on end still posts the same lie "plame is not covert" over and over and over

I'll let you in on a concept:

If you're covert --- working AT CIA HQ is really, REALLY bad cover.
