FRANKENBUNNY ARRIVES!

To Deserving Children, What Will He Bring?

Did you really think we'd miss the opportunity to introduce a new holiday-inspired Franken-character? Of course not: say hello to the Frankenbunny!

Thanks to Wisconsin's own David Lunde, we've got a whole host of holiday characters to share with you, our loyal readers, this weekend.

Memo to Al: after Air America folds and the Senate campaign is over, this could become a lucrative fallback career.

Along the way, let's catch up on related news items:

Rather than report on Air America's sleazy corporate antics, what's truly important in New York City?

Janeane Garofalo's shopping excursions!

In several neighborhood newspapers, this item has appeared:

Janeane Garofalo shopping incognito at Apollo Braun’s store on Orchard St. “The West Wing” star and “Air America” radio host shielded her celebrity self with big dark sunglasses, Adidas track pants and a coat. She paid cash (with exact change) for a pair of gold hoop earrings that matched her necklace, an UnderCover spy said.

Aren't New Yorkers used to semi-celebs buying earrings? Hard to believe it's considered interesting enough to print.

Did Steve Sinton really establish Air America Radio? While running in Georgia's Sixth Congressional District Democratic Primary, that's the claim, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Democrats are also fielding credible candidates for several legislative seats, McMurray said.

In addition, Steven Sinton, founder of the liberal radio network Air America, is running in the Democratic primary in the 6th Congressional District. Incumbent Tom Price is expected to have a primary opponent.

While his brother Jon, a former Clear Channel suit, has had a role in the company, we've never seen Steve's name anywhere in the mix. And it's the second time we've observed an Atlanta-area paper making the assertion.

Of course, the bigger question: even if true, is it really something to brag about?

On cable's Sundance Channel, what has become of The Al Franken Show? We can't figure it out.

In addition, the Sundance media relations department has not returned an email asking for information on the show's current status. Will it return in June, or has it been cancelled?

We thought we'd previously heard it was coming back, now it isn't clear what's going on.

While a few worried fans have posted messages here, the media doesn't seem to have noticed.
