Laura Ingraham, Democrat 'Voter Protection Line'
LAURA VS LIBS
As Ingraham Listeners Jam 'Protection Line', Progs Fume
Regardless of how tonight's results may in fact turn out for Republicans, we can at least thank talk host Laura Ingraham for sticking it to Democrats over their moonbat- inspired "Voter Protection Line".
Appearing to be more of a "evidence" gathering tool for post- election litigators than a real assistance line, Ingraham saw through the sham and directed listeners to phone it early and often.
And ring it they did: reports from the left have the number virtually bombarded, with Ingraham fans jamming the line.
Sure enough, so- called "progressives" are furious tonight to see their transparent "protection" effort exposed for what it really is. They're already busy threatening Ingraham with legal action and demanding she be fired.

From the liberal Media Matters site:
As the weblog Firedoglake first noted, during the November 7 edition of her nationally syndicated talk radio show, Laura Ingraham urged listeners to jam the phone lines of 1-888-DEM-VOTE, a voter assistance hotline sponsored by the Democratic Party.
Ingraham stated: "I want you to call it and I want you tell us what you get when you call 1-888-DEM-VOTE. They're on top of all of the shenanigans at the polling stations. One problem: you can't get through." Minutes later, while talking with a listener who called the hotline, Ingraham said: "Let's keep 'dem' lines ringing." Ingraham, a frequent Fox News contributor, is scheduled to appear on the November 7 edition of Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto.
According to Firedoglake, the voter assistance hotline is "now being flooded with calls from crank callers."
From the November 7 edition of Talk Radio Network's The Laura Ingraham Show:
INGRAHAM: Multiple callers are calling the 1-888-DUMB-VOTE line and they said that the line is now broken. That you can't get through.
MATT FOX (technical producer): The Democrats can't even do that right; they can't even do a help line.
INGRAHAM: First of all, you're telling people that their vote is being suppressed at all these polling stations across the country. Vote is being suppressed, what are you talking about? You want to see voter suppression? Try to vote in Iraq when you have snipers on rooftops, OK? Those people walk to the polls; they don't care about the snipers. So don't talk to me about voter suppression. That is the biggest bunch of baloney that we've been sold, and we've been sold it election after election by desperate Democrats -- 1-888-DEM-VOTE. I want you to call it, and I want you tell us what you get when you call 1-888-DEM-VOTE. They're on top of all of the shenanigans at the polling stations. One problem -- you can't get through.

CALLER: Hey, Laura, I called the 888 number. I think I cost the Democrats at least 25 cents.

AUDIO: Laura Ingraham Tells Listeners To Jam Voter Protection Hotline
As FireDogLake has been reporting, right-wing radio host Laura Ingraham today urged her listeners to obstruct efforts to protect voting rights by jamming a free voter protection hotline.
After playing a recording of DNC Chairman Howard Dean promoting the line to voters, Ingraham suggested her listeners call en masse:
Tell me if you think I’m crazy. This is what I’m thinking. I think we all need to call 1 888 DEM VOTE all at the same time.

Laura Ingraham’s Attempt To Jam DNC Phone Lines
Here is the audio of Laura Ingraham telling her listeners:
Tell me if you think I’m crazy. This is what I’m thinking. I think we all need to call 1 888 DEM VOTE all at the same time.
Yeah - you are crazy Laura. I wonder what other terms the DNC's lawyers will have for you in the coming days.
Think Progress has the transcript, as well as links to some of the prank calls the DNC has received since Ingraham decided to show how little she thinks of democracy.
From the liberal AMERICABlog, more legal threats against Ingraham:
Right wing/GOP pundit Laura Ingraham tries to jam DNC voter protection line
NOTE FROM JOHN: She's toast. I want to hear from election lawyers about this. And next I want to know where her show runs and who her advertisers are. Try to shut down voter fraud hotlines the day of the election - your career is over.
Consequences. There really have to be consequences for bad behavior. Like Laura Ingraham. She should be fired. Today, like most of her GOP cohorts, Ingraham engaged in an effort to undermine voting in America.

Listen for yourself here. It's all a big joke to Laura and the GOP.
A lot of lines -- legal and otherwise -- have been crossed this year by the GOP and their allies in an effort to suppress the vote. There have to be consequences.

Monitoring The Dirty Tricks
by digby
Two unbiased observers, Joe Scarborough and Michael Smerconish, just pointed out that it's sickening to see Democrats whining about election irregularities when they do exactly the same thing, even worse. Like in Philadelphia where they are allegedly "mining votes" left and right as we speak. Or New Jersey where they have rigged the voting machines.
The one thing Republicans unbiased observers can't bear is Democratic hypocrisy and election stealing. This is why it's good that Laura Ingraham told her listeners to crank call the Democratic Voter protection hotline. They've got to stop the madness by any means necessary.

yeah, you assholes concentrate on calling that hotline, and we'll concentrate on taking over both houses of congress and fixing the messes that you've made. great strategy. while you're at it, why don't you call up Pizza Hut and have them deliver a bunch of pizzas to Barrack Obama's house? oh, you pranksters sure did whoop us good!

Doesn't the little tramp realize that interference in the election process is a CRIME?
What can you expect from someone who faked a breast-cancer crisis to keep her job, anyway?
What a vicious, rotten-from-the-middle, toxic slut.

Brian,
I don't want to be rude, so I will be short, frank, and to the point.
You've been pwn3d!

Owen,
The new me is taking the high road. I hope you and your congregation will take off the white hoods this Sunday and do some some soul searching.
Maloney,
Hopefully you and your ilk will peform some quiet reflection tonight and recognize that the American people have rejected your partys' failed policies and arrogant leadership and that you will begin to show some humility and objectivity in your blog.
I am not betting on it though.

I love it. Dems take the house - and then some, and then some. Dems on the brink of taking Senate.
And what does Maloney run with?
We made some KILLER prank calls!
Well Played

Considering your party just won, you guys sure seem angry. Guess nothing makes you happy.
By Brian Maloney, at 08 November, 2006 05:21
Brian, that's putting it mildly! I would say stronger things but I as an Independent/Conservative am too angry to even think what to say to this referendum on our soldiers!
Guess I may as well start growing my beard out since many people in this country are now saying ALLAH AKBAR!!!!

Herr Maloney blathers:

An election win is always the first step. Happy yes, but now it's time for the real work to begin. First off - A real across-the-isle bi-partisan proposal: Fire Rumsfeld
Patriot sour grapes
Guess I may as well start growing my beard out since many people in this country are now saying ALLAH AKBAR!!!!
Yeah, time to check the expiration date on the fear card pie. That red-herring wolf can cry only so many times before you actually need a PLAN. (Note: Changing "Stay the course" euphemisms is not a plan)
Oh, and "referendum on our soldiers"? Spare us. Look up the voting record of your (ex)GOP Senator/Rep HERE and report back on their grade(s).
The GOP. Good at wearing US Flag lapel pins & yellow ribbons. Bad for our troops
By Nate, at 08 November, 2006 06:49
Brian,
I've worked on political campaigns for both parties (you could call me a hack), and EVERY ONE of them has had some sort of voter protection line. It is to make sure that your voters aren't disenfranchised -- either intentionally or unintentionally. To jam the phone lines is likely illegal, and it's certainly immoral.
By Justin, at 08 November, 2006 07:33
The Rethugs ARE the party of immorality, and of murdering our troops.
By hashfanatic, at 08 November, 2006 08:01
Baloney,
Your thuggery was ineffective.
By BWTechnical, at 08 November, 2006 15:35
Neocons ARE ineffective! By design!
And there's nothing a few dozen investigations, court martials, subpoenas, and ENDLESS inquiries won't reveal!
By hashfanatic, at 08 November, 2006 21:54
Oh, one more thing:
THANKS, RUSH!!!!
By hashfanatic, at 08 November, 2006 23:45
Ingram should be going to jail for this, no joke. They did this in 2004 in New Hampshire. people went to jail for phone jamming. This is voter supression. Do not be surprised if like those creeps in N.H in 2004, Ingrham goes to jail. She broke the law.
