Dennis Miller, Talk Radio
MILLER FILLER
Comedian Becomes Latest Syndicated Talker
Though our reputation may be that we're always against liberal talk radio and in favor of conservative programming, the truth about the Radio Equalizer's agenda is that it simply opposes bad radio and television.
That's why, in addition to slamming Air America's "progressive" talk debacle, we've also gone after a number of others who could be considered conservative, such as Boston's Jay Severin, MSNBC's Tucker Carlson and CNN-HN's Glenn Beck, among others.
To this list, we'd like to add another name: Dennis Miller.
While we've enjoyed some of Miller's past work, he's already made it clear he isn't a talk show host. And there's no reason to believe he'd be any better on the radio than he was on television.
Yet, in a move that makes no sense whatsoever, Miller has now joined the ranks of syndicated talk show hosts:
Did Westwood One ever stop to consider who might carry a show like this? Your Radio Equalizer believes they are going to find the door shut from his first day and onward from there.
Not only are most stations already jammed to the hilt with syndicated talk shows, leaving little room for new product, but Miller's track record just isn't there to convince programmers that they should take a chance and pick him up.

Miller to rant on Westwood One radio

WASHINGTON - Dennis Miller, the comedian and former Weekend Update anchor on television's "Saturday Night Live," plans in March to launch his first radio show on Westwood One Inc.'s network, the company said on Wednesday.
The daily three-hour show, "The Dennis Miller Show," will include Miller's commentaries as well as interviews and calls from listeners, and be broadcast in major U.S. markets. Westwood One said it will also relaunch Miller's official Web site.
Miller anchored Weekend Update for six years, and refers to many of his commentaries as "rants." The five-time Emmy award winner has previously hosted shows on HBO and CNBC, and was a commentator for ABC's "Monday Night Football."

I stopped watching Monday Night Football at halftime during the first game that Dennis Miller commentated on. I have never watched another Monday game on TV. The man is intelligent, but he's also a vicious little rat with the emotional range of a waffle iron.

Paul,
MNF is a Miller free zone on ESPN now. You can watch your football in peace.

According to the Wikipedia listing on Air America affiliates, that network is only available in Sheridan, Wyoming on KYTI's third HD channel.
I think there will be room for all sorts of low listener volume material on other HD radio second and third channels, including this one from Dennis Miller.
