Mike Webb Murder Arrest, KIRO Seattle

PUNK ARRESTED

Has Webb's Killer Been Caught?

In Seattle, an arrest has been made in the murder of former KIRO / Seattle talk show host Mike Webb, according to FOX News. The Seattle Times has additional details here, including how a local car dealership owner received a creepy call from the suspect.

Blatherwatch has been live- blogging from the courthouse today.

Meanwhile, a new Seattle Post- Intelligencer report says he may have been using some of Webb's credit cards after the murder. And KING-5 TV says the man may have lived in Mike's home for some period of time.

Initially, some tried to blame a blogger for the killing, but the prime suspect is apparently a local weirdo. KIRO-7 TV has identified him as Scott White, 28 years old.

From a photo released earlier this evening, White looks like a typical Capitol Hill District street- dweller.

KOMO-4 TV reports Seattle police had been looking for White for several weeks.

From FOX's report:

SEATTLE — A man has been arrested in the killing of former radio talk show host Mike Webb, police said Thursday.

The 28-year-old man was arrested Tuesday night and booked into the King County jail for investigation in the killing of Webb, 51, who hosted a late night talk show for 10 years on Seattle station KIRO, police Officer Mark A. Jamieson said.

Jamieson would not release other circumstances of the investigation and arrest pending a police news conference later Thursday.

A property manager cleaning out the house Webb was renting found his decomposed body June 28 beneath boxes and a tarpaulin in a basement crawl space. An autopsy indicated he died sometime after April 13 from multiple sharp force injuries.

A longtime friend, John McMullen, said Webb was last seen April 13, but his family continued to receive text messages from his cellular telephone for another month. The messages indicated Webb was fine and leaving town, but he did not normally use text messages and the messages stopped after relatives demanded that Webb call them, McMullen said.

More details as they are released.
