Conservative Talk Radio Ecstatic Over Sarah Palin's VP Nod
'THIS IS TREMENDOUS'
Talk Radio Finally Excited About Presidential Contest
It's not every day that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Geraldine Ferraro and Hillary Clinton agree on something, but John McCain's selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin has them all sharing in the excitement of what could result in America's first female vice president.
With Palin, everybody gets something: Limbaugh and Hannity get a real conservative on the GOP ticket, while Ferraro gains the satisfaction of knowing her 1984 VP bid truly blazed a trail. Finally, Hillary Clinton has received some vindication knowing that somebody in the presidential race finds her 18 million voters worth pursuing.
That's not to say Clinton and Ferraro necessarily agree with Palin's conservative stances, but both see the bigger picture, especially after Barack Obama's curious choice of Senator Joe Biden (D-DE) as his own running mate.
From Ferraro: "Without Hillary being the nominee it's really quite equally as important. There are a lot of women who are disaffected by how Hillary was treated by the media, by how she was treated by the Obama campaign … not speaking up when sexism raised its ugly head in the media."
For conservative talk radio and the blogosphere, the Palin pick brought a rare shot in the arm at a time when upbeat political news has been hard to come by. Limbaugh said her "story and experience dwarf Barack Obama."
From Friday's program:
Meanwhile, Michelle Malkin said of the choice, "Yes, I’m impressed. Very impressed." Other pundits appeared to agree.
And Palin's VP nod has already seemed to boost McCain's rally turnout. In a sign of early damage to Obama's candidacy, Boston Herald media reporter Jessica Heslam noted a huge coverage shift away from the Illinois senator and toward McCain's candidacy, perhaps for the first time in recent memory.
But not everyone is happy, especially among those firmly in the Obama camp. Boston-based blogger Dan Kennedy called her "Dan Quayle in a skirt", while libtalker Randi Rhodes delivered this rant:
The real beauty of McCain's choice is that it opens up a whole new discussion area for talk radio, a fresh topic of which only the surface has yet been scratched. Now, conservatives have a real reason to jump in and participate.

For conservative talk radio and the blogosphere, the Palin pick brought a rare shot in the arm at a time when upbeat political news has been hard to come by. Limbaugh said her "story and experience dwarf Barack Obama."
From Friday's program:
RUSH: It's an inspired choice. They kept this secret. They totally befuddled the Obama campaign. The Obama campaign is now busy doing their opposition research, and the one thing that just blows me away that just makes me laugh, and I haven't been laughing much this week, is that they're talking about how this is a bad pick because she doesn't have any experience. She's got more experience than Obama does! She has more experience running things. She's got a bigger story to tell than Obama has, and she's got plenty of people who will tell that great story of hers. Obama has nobody he wants us to hear tell his story. He has to tell his story himself. I think they've been rope-a-doped here. I think McCain has made a brilliant move. Folks, look what we got here.
We do have a woman on the ticket, but she is a Republican woman! It's not Hillary, and Sarah Palin doesn't have to wear pantsuits, ladies and gentlemen, and her husband is not a crook. This woman's nickname is Barracuda, from her high school basketball days. She takes no prisoners. She's a government ethical reformer. She's been opposing Ted Stevens, who's got problems. Her husband works in the oil business.
He helps to create the fuel that Obama uses to fly all over the country. The fuel that Obama says he wants to get rid of in ten years. This is tremendous, and everybody saying, "Well, how is she going to stack up against Biden?" It's not how she stacks up against Biden. It's how she stacks up against Obama. McCain has the experience-vs.-Obama thing wrapped up. "Well, what about foreign policy? She doesn't have any foreign policy." Neither does Obama! Our vice presidential choice is more qualified to be president of the United States than Barack Obama, the Democrat choice. Democrats today are not happy.
The Drive-By Media is not happy. They're not crazy about the speech last night in the civil rights community. I can't tell you how much Drive-By Media criticism there is of this speech, from the AP and Reuters and so forth, and there's Tom Brokaw: Democrats, don't be fooled by this raucous crowd, these big crowds at these things don't mean anything, it's going to be forgotten. It already is forgotten, folks. We've got audio sound bites of this that we're going to get to in due course.
RHODES: (hour two, segment one): I mean everyone knows John McCain is not running his campaign. His campaign is being run by lobbyists and talk show hosts. This is this Sarah Palin chick is Rush Limbaugh’s oil chick. He’s the only person in the country that knew her name and every day I’d sit there and listen and I actually looked her up a long time ago cause he’s been advocating for her cause he wants an idiot. He wants a ah little puppet who sits on ANWR.
Cause he has not done a show for his audience in I cannot tell you in how many years. Just like corporate TV is doing it for their corporations, he is shilling for the companies. That is what his show is all about. That is why he is a global warming denier. That’s why even though you can show him Mount Kilamanjaro then with the ice caps and now with the grass on it and no ice. He still denies that he’s looking at, he says the pictures have been doctored.
MOCKING LIMBAUGH VOICE: Blu blu blu give me another oxycotin Wilma Wilma Wilma. Go to the Denny’s and get me oxy.
The real beauty of McCain's choice is that it opens up a whole new discussion area for talk radio, a fresh topic of which only the surface has yet been scratched. Now, conservatives have a real reason to jump in and participate.

This pick by McCain should put the so called lack of exerience by Obama to rest. Who does this woman represent in Alaska but a handfull of rednecks and several thousand moose? As a Liberal I like his choice. He just blew it if he was trying to win Hillary supporters. They will never vote for a pro life candidate whether of not it's a woman.

This pick by McCain should put the so called lack of exerience by Obama to rest.
Apparently Bill Bunton didn't get that memo. And Rush addressed that in the entry already.

Deever Dave must attend the same synagogue as Michael "Savage",because the fraud "Savage" was in typical Weiner form tonight attacking her and PRAISING OBAMA'S soporific speech...Wake up folks,Michael "Savage" is a mendacious miscreant. The only shocking thing about the Savage Weiner is that he actually took time away from promoting his new "book"(publishing sinks further by the second)to attack Palin.
By Anonymous, at 30 August, 2008 01:50
But he would have totally lost his base if he picked a pro choice
candidate. He does pick up some
women voters & others but who knows
if he would pick up as many as he would need.
btw with regards to the "Change"
theme Obama has, as a conservative,
I want change too--on the local level. MA has all Dem Reps and Senators and about 95 per cent of other office holders; a Republican
would be "Change" around here.
Not that many offices have a Republican opponent (or a strong one).

What a perfect ending to the Democrat Convention.
McCain hit it out of the park with his Friday anouncement. Quite a bit different from the Obama's botched Saturday 3am text message regarding Biden.
Every TV station and major online news site led with the Palin announcement all day.
I heard a rumor that Obama made some sort of a speech Thursday night. Didn't see any mention of it by the Media on Friday.
By The Benson Report, at 30 August, 2008 13:14
I like Palin.
Deev, what you know about "Hillary supporters" wouldn't fit the head of a pin, and your vile, snotty comments regarding rural Americans reminded me why I have turned my back on the progressive movement in the first place.
Did you learn that in Obama Camp, or were you part of the first control group, that were programmed individually?

Deever Dave should do a bit of research before throwing out ignorant comments.
Before dismissing that Commander of the Alaska National Guard stuff about Governor Palin, consider this:
Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units.
As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's.
She's also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security's counterterrorism plans.
Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska's proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about.
According to the Washington Post, she first met with McCain in February, but nobody ever found out. This is a woman used to keeping secrets.
She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is.

I always knew, or rather feared, that McCain would pick a woman. He had to - the Obama phenomenon is over-powering. Boy, was I relieved when I found out it wasn't Carly Fiorina! We dodged a bullet! McCain blinked and picked the wrong person!!
Even Michael Savage said all is lost now. Savage says he thinks McCain threw the election.
Some think of her as having a libertarian streak. But she supports the teaching of creationism along side of evolution for biology students. This is putting religion and one's own politics ahead of science. No thank you.
Personally, I think it is hypocritical of her to wrap herself up in 'family values' when she accepts this job while nursing a 4 months old with down syndrome. Her full attention should be with the child, not running for a higher office.
It is a myth that Obama is not qualified to lead. Even Newt Gingrich says Obama is qualified. You can see Obama's qualifications here:
http://tinyurl.com/26nobj
And one skeptic researched Obama and found he was a better choice than Hillary based on his actions, not words:
http://tinyurl.com/6393ct
And lastly, Palin loves to kill animals. That is not Pro-life. Unless you are into Orwellian doublespeak.
By veggiedude, at 31 August, 2008 14:32
It's getting better and better. McCain hit it out of the park when he selected Palin.
Governor Palin has run a state and a town and a commercial fishing operation, whereas Senator Obama ain't run nothin' but his mouth.

By Anonymous, at 01 September, 2008 03:16
Hysterical. Already scandal after scandal is attached to her name... AMAZING. A knocked up 17 year old.... Imagine if a Democrat's daughter was knocked up at 17. Imagine what wing-nut radio would be shrieking
Hash....... You have officially lost your mind. You still have not explained why Obama is so bad for America. Your deep inherited racism has surfaced over the last few weeks "obongo". Face it Hash, you have been unable to explain why Obama is so bad... I asked you over and over and over.. One can assume you are either racist, or actually believe "obama is a muslim Anti-white terrorist".....
Now you like a theocrat hypocrite? Mrs. Family values with the knocked up 17 year old?
Her child has downs syndrome.... Maybe it had something to do with ignoring her water breaking and deciding to do a political speech instead????
In 48 hours she has been exposed.
She preaches family values, yet her daughter knocked up UN-MARRIED at 17????
Mark my word Bush sheep and "hash" (who completly lost his mind).... Palen will be dropped from the ticket...
and Hash "progressive movement"? There is none, you are witnissing America vehemently rejecting the G.O.P. that is all. No "obamamaniacs", they do not exist either. Simply AMERICA rejecting the vile Anti-family, Anti-worker Republican party.... You like Palin? You have LOST it... Last year you would consider her a theocrat..... Amazing. What the thought of a black face in the White House will do to the most "liberal" leaning people. Amazing
Come clean Hash. You have not explained wehy Obama is bad.... WHY are you rejecting him. IF you can not answer , with a POLICY based answer. I can assume you fell under the wing nut spell and think Obama is a terrorist, Muslim who who hates "whitey"..... either that, or you are racist and terrified of the black face.
I seek answers. How can a bright man like you, drift to the traitorous radical right.
Can you imagine Palin, sitting down with Putin? She is a danger to AMERICA. This is a natinoal security issue. McCain picked a DANGER to our safety. And ou like this? Hash... step away from the radio, you are indoctrinated and losing your f*c*ing mind

Here is something to ponder:
Question: How do you know that McVain made the correct decision in his VPStakes?
Answer: Every low life hypocritical scumbag goes into full blown screaming nutter panic mode when its proven what sexist, intolerant, Intellectual frauds they are.
go ahead you idiots, keep attacking Palin for being a "Working Mom", you drive another PUMA/Feminista into the McCain camp.
every time you tinfoil hatters spew ANOTHER attack against a special needs baby, you disgust the all important Undecided voter and another McCain voter is born.
by acting like delusional fools and hypocritical tools you lost not only an election, but you have put to ground the fraud that the Liberal Party is the party of of the Big Tent
Some advice for the remaining reasonable-sensible Democrats
Get rid of the KosKiddies, DUmmies and Socialist Nutters, then come back to the Table of rationality.

gop OWN at least 90% of the blow hole talk radio and have destroyed America with their propaganda.
Ponder that!

Yeah,I want to see Obama attack her on this...HIS MOTHER HAD HIM AT 18 AND THAT MARRIAGE TO THE AFRICAN WAS ONE OF CONVENIENCE!
So,sorry libs...you lose again. Nov 4 will be your day of mourning.

Have you noticed how the Democrat's sacred so-called "right to choose" only applies when the choice being made is to abort the pregnancy.
By The Benson Report, at 01 September, 2008 20:22
The left is just furious over the selection of Governor Palin as the VP choice.
The are digging into the family's past history and found:
Sarah Palin's husband, Todd, was arrested for DUI back in 1986.
Well, to help you put that in perspective:
The incident occurred about seven years after Obama's last use of cocaine, to the best of my knowledge, and five years after his last use of marijuana.
(from the NY Times no less!)

"Your deep inherited racism has surfaced over the last few weeks "obongo"."
Jared? You, with NO allegiance to America, are hardly in a position to throw stones in this matter.
Oblowme's few STATED policy positions are virtually, unanimously pathetic, insufficient, poorly thought out, and inappropriate for almost every American.
Almost every domestic initiative requires massive retooling (ex. tax plan) the moment the public questions them.
His reliance on Zbigniew Brzinski as foreign policy guru virtually guarantees a losing "warm war" with Russia for the next two decades, and his statements and disingenuousness with Iran virtually guarantees semi-permanent HEIGHTENED instability in the Middle East, not to mention his overactive hormonal obsession with "Pockistan".
Barky is a divider. He throws down pseudo-intellectual gauntlets with typical uppity smugness and lets the populace battle it out and mop each other up themselves, a disgrace.
His outlook on universal healthcare completely defeats its own purpose with typical elitist, arrogant cynicism, as if he wanted the concept to fail straight out of the gate.
His close personal associations with black supremacist racists and domestic terrorists and his inability to come clean with his radical bonafides speak volumes about his covert agenda, and his inability to produce anything but forgeries of his own birth certificate or even address his own murky origins, places him at the bottom of the barrel, an unqualified candidate that foolish, vengeful, ignorant liberals can feel comfortable voting for, only because he is black.
Barack Hussein Obama represents the final demented horror of what the Chicago political machine has created, and the ultimate, unelectable, extremist Democratic candidate.
And, the behavior of his hardcore, rabid followers is a harbinger of a new, authoritarian thuggishness that Mugabe can only dream of.
"99 Problems And A Bitch Ain't One"?
This is one bandwagon you won't find easy to brush off your own shoulders, Jared.

Both parties will either respond to their respectable elements, or they will die.

Oh, Lord. She doesn't believe our current climate change is anthropogenic. She doesn't believe in evolution. She doesn't believe in comprehensive sex education (and she's got the pregnant sixteen-year-old daughter to prove it).
And she's on the ticket.
We're doomed. And it's probably a good thing.

palin's also for banning books in the library and probably burning them to. She's the perfect running mate for Mr. MaGoo and the gop.

How many of you know that she was in favour of taking Alaska out of the Union? Now she is in the party of Lincoln, who ironically fought to keep the Union together. This tidbit was heard on the Dennis Miller radio show last night.

hey veggie brain
Did you know that Barak Obama hasn't done one thing in congress that would distinguish him as a leader? that every "Friend" he has is virulently anti-American and in one instance (Ayers) wanted to violently DESTROY the country?
hell if i had to put up with the BS of the Federal system, id secession as well
FYI moron the state of Texas retains the right of secession with its annexation in the 1840s

What a powerful acceptance speech.
Showing steel beneath her magnolia jacket, Palin slaughtered Obama's lack of experience, his vanity, his emptiness behind his trusty teleprompter.
It was the most powerful demolition of the Democrat demagogue I have heard in a long time.
