Liberal Managers Censor Rush Limbaugh Inaugural Commentary

HUSHING RUSH

Some Limbaugh Affiliates Self-Censor Inaugural Comments

*** DOZENS OF STATIONS CENSORED LIMBAUGH ***

*** DID YOUR STATION CUT AWAY BETWEEN NOON AND 12:30? LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW ***

During a strangely divisive,
downbeat and depressing inaugural speech by incoming ruler Barack Obama, non-believers hoping for an alternative perspective from Rush Limbaugh were disappointed to find some affiliates suppressing his comments.

Though Limbaugh's plans to provide a real-time reaction to Obama's oratory were spelled out to stations more than a week in advance by Premiere Radio Networks, at least a few (and perhaps many more) chose to self-censor his remarks.

In addition, El Rushbo himself alerted fans to his plans during yesterday's program:

RUSH: A programming note for those of you who are affiliates on the EIB Network, just as a reminder we are going to carry the immaculation tomorrow. We're going to carry the Immaculate Inauguration, the swearing in and the speech, the inaugural address by Barack Obama. There will be live commentary as we are known for here on the EIB Network during the immaculation address itself. However, ladies and gentlemen, I don't think at this point in time that we are going to stick with coverage of the parade. I mean we could do that, and I could describe for you the bands and the circus acts and the clowns and so forth that I see on television coverage, but I mean you could turn on the television for that. We will cover the inaugural address and we'll play it by ear after that to see where we go. I just want you to know, we'll be carrying it from start to finish, and whatever commercial time-outs, commercial breaks that are necessary to skip, we will skip tomorrow in order to bring to you the immaculation address of Barack Obama from beginning to end.

Near EQ HQ,
Boston talker WRKO and WXTK-FM on Cape Cod both turned their backs on Rush's lucrative audience, from which they have profited for years, most likely to suit their own political agendas. At our regional media site, we have documented WRKO owner Entercom's far left Obamist political leanings for over two years.

Based on a carefully-worded email to listeners sent last week, we were anticipating the possibility of a suppression effort by WRKO.

We've also heard from angry KFI / Los Angeles and WPTF/ Raleigh listeners who experienced the same troubles. (UPDATE: see comments below for indications from listeners in other cities)

Instead of hearing Limbaugh's no-holds-barred analysis, disappointed listeners experienced relentlessly-upbeat live network feeds. In Boston, his show appeared to be joined in progress at about 12:38.

Subscribers to the Rush 24 / 7 premium service were able to listen via Internet audio streaming.

As 58 million Americans are confronted by the stark reality that a creepy political-religious cult has taken over the country, Limbaugh is providing one of the few remaining opposition voices. That stations are already beginning to engage in Chinese-style self-censorship provides a chilling early example of the coming battle to save free speech in America.

What did YOUR local affiliate do? So we can tally the damage, please leave a comment below.

Meanwhile, the media
silliness out there is so out of control, it would be impossible to track it all, but here are a few examples:

The Providence Journal got a thrill up its leg about Obama ordering pens

ABC gushed over Obama's "audacity to hope"

At the New York Daily News, radio columnist David Hinckley laughingly claims Obama didn't run as a "black" candidate

MSNBC's cartoonish kooks called it "the honor of our lifetimes"

divisive and downbeat? What speech did you listen to? Ohhhh you did not listen to it, Rush told you what Obama said. The speech was positive, unifying and similiar to JFK's speech, same themes. It as not "doomsday for the economy" at all. It was nothing like the speech he made last week, which was negative and downbeat regarding the economy. This speech was 100% different. Rush is controlling Maloney's miond at this point, where reality is no longer reality, and all that matter's is what the Pig man has to say

I dod not vote for Obama, I'm being fully objective, the speech was positive.

poor, poor 12%ers, all alone and isolated with their Anti-American, Anti-working class views... America has abandoned your warped views and Anti-American sentiment.

  • KNRS, Salt Lake City, UT, carried Rush's commentary

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 20 January, 2009 13:31

  • It's not censorship, it's called showing respect for our new President on this most historic day. Obviously not something you or Rush can fathom- so sad that you insist on continuing to take such a negative, hateful viewpoint, waiting and hoping for failure. It's time for you to wake up to this realization- American is embracing a new dawn of hope and change. No one has any time or interest in your ongoing ignorant, self-serving and hateful views! May God bless our new President and his family!!

  • I did not care for his commentary, but this was a free country. I see where schools in Dayto,OH, were making sure there were no "inappropriate comments" made by students today!

    Great civics lesson!

  • WVOM(voice of Maine) was live with Rush

By Blogger Unknown, at 20 January, 2009 14:26

  • WPHT Philadelphia pre-empted Rush for two hours of pre-announced "local" coverage direct from DC. The station had been promoting the special coverage for over a week as that of a "historic" event.

I was able to hear the actual Limbaugh show, with some static, thanks to WEEU Reading, PA.

  • Anon, it's properly called censorship.

Oh, that's right...with you liberals censoring conservatives is proper and good but censoring your own kind is improper and evil. Just proving that liberals use a double-standard.

As far as I know, local station WFLA (WNLS) carried Rush's show "as is" from 1pm to 3pm EST. They did pre-empt the first hour of his show to air the audio of the inauguration via Fox News Radio.

  • barky's speech was NOT inspiring, i personally wouldn't call it positive, and it certainly did not live up to the relentless media hype and the dnc's expectations of brilliant oratory

alexander's beatnik-esque spoken word routine was baffling and inappropriate for the occasion, and the baptist preacher's little performance WAS divisive and depressingly downbeat, to say the least

so, maybe it wasn't a catastrophic failure, but i think it highlighted the differences between barry's world, and the world most americans live in, and feel comfortable with

now, i heard rush's show, and, to be honest, it really was not so bad, that any of the affiliates had to pull it

he was relentlessly partisan, but that's part of who rush is, and what his listeners expect, what's wrong with that? he said nothing offensive, and i think his forthrightness was refreshingly honest from most of the other talk show hosts, who have been carrying on relentlessly about "supporting this president", and "wanting him to succeed for the good of our country", LOL!

i don't think that, if you believe a particular politician, from the president right on down, is going to work for the best interests of the nation, that you should pretend to give "honeymoons" and try to manipulate your listeners into thinking that makes you any more of a "great american" than the critics, who serve such a valuable role in preserving our freedoms

so i have to admit, i had respect for rush, for once, because the barkster's speech was far from the seamless production we'd been lead to expect, it was foolish anyway for his bots to expect him to "walk across the potomac", and rush said nothing obscene or unfair, he called it as he saw it, and that's his job

people should respect, that this was not a celebratory day for all, they never are, and the pretense is silly

It sounded like the crap WRKO typically runs and calls "news."

  • "...a creepy political-religious cult has taken over the country..."

Actually, that happened in 2000, despite the majority of American's wishes. Today, they left office.

There is nothing remotely depressing about that.

Now get to work, we've got one hell of a mess to clean up.

  • I heard some of Rush's comments on the inauguration while driving home. Typical Rush. No surprises. Lately, however, he's been angrier than usual and pretty sour. He's usually more entertaining. Wanting Obama to fail, a view he expressed the other day, is not something I'd expect to hear from someone who considers himself the ultimate patriot. Then again, when you think about it, besides talking and talking and talking, what has Rush actually done in his life? He's never run for office, never served in the military, never finished college, and never had a sustained relationship. Oh, he smokes cigars and plays golf. He's best, I think, as an entertainer and at telling everyone what to do and how to do it. When has he put his money where his mouth is? He's the perpetual Monday morning quarterback, or the pretender who niggles from the sidelines but never takes any real responsibility.

  • Our EIB affiliate in southern IL, just outside St. Louis, did NOT carry Rush's program yesterday. I would have loved to have heard his comments...

A historic moment doesn't need to include censorship of commentary...if all the other media sources were able to give their take on the speech, etc. via television, radio, internet--then Rush should have retained his voice also. The swearing in (less than 3 minutes) could have broken into all the programs, and then resumed the regular programming.

describing the Anti-American freaks of nature who voted for this pig Bush 8 years ago.

Remember when Bush was inaugarated people tossed eggs and protested, Bush was NEVER America's president, conservatism has NEVER been America's ideology

You Anti-American degenerates have always been cult-like zombie freaks, taking orders from an over weight bi-sexual druggie who comes on the radio.

You freaks called Bush, Jesus on Earth, nobody has called Obama a messiah, becides joking around.

Bush voters were cultist freaks. America from DAY ONE rejected the freak, yesterday America celebrated, 8 years ago, thousands protested. That piece of garbage divivded us, we are united now , against the dangerous Anti-
American cult of Rush. All that remains of conservatism is a few mentally sick talk radio listeners. WE will rid the nation of the few remaining Bush cultists

The right has always been the fringe
    always will be the fringe
and their sick hero is finally gone, America is thrilled

now all that is left is to eliminate the sick cult of ditto-headism. Maybe Rush will steer to to some remote place and you can drink the kool-aid and end your misrable lives, I mean after all how can you live under a brown "commie" "muslim" president. Listen to Rushie, your pied piper of Anti-Americanism drink it, kill yourselves 12%ers, con-cultists, do us Americans a favor... like the typical Anti-American jihadist terrorist that you are.

you hate this country, wish for it to fail, all because for 30 years a conservative told you "lib lib lib lib lib lib lib".

For 30 years conservatives have presented no solutions, just endless bashing of "libs".. You destroyed this country, and deserve to be called out as to what you are, a terrorist, who has taken a failed ideology over your own country. Listening to Rush is no different than browsing the SAL Queda message board..

AL Queda hates America because of religion, you hate America because your cleric (Limbaugh) has planted seeds of Anti-American hate in your soul. You hate working class people, hate poor people, hate the common folk.... hence your a jihad ditto-head

This is your recession, you have destroyed this nation, Obama may want to play nice with the terrorists on the right, I believe in calling it exactly the way it is, conservatives have terrorized this nation long enough, I support keeping Gitmo open for ditto-heads

  • Brian, you've certainly attracted some of the more heavily affected liberal types. Kudos, I guess.

It is disingenuous of a radio station to cut away from Rush for the purposes of censorship. If your station's owners or operators just can't stand Mr. Limbaugh, then don't carry his program. If you do, then you have a responsibility to your audience to be consistent with your carriage.

In short, either do it, or don't.

As for the poor, emotionally-driven liberal types, wouldn't you think that now--of all times in human history--we'd see them taking a more conciliatory posture? Of course not. That's why so-called "compassionate conservatism," i.e. making room for children at the adult's table, didn't work.

  • KODY-AM in North Platte, NE ran the Rush feed. I happened to be in the station at the time. While I was there, their phone was ringing off the hook with offended Rush listeners - yes, RUSH LISTENERS. Also, while I was there, two listeners actually stopped in to voice their complaints. These were complaints from actual Rush listeners. What does that say? People that actually care about what that fat, drug-addled, one-sided piece of crap has to say were offended!?! Look, he's gonna be his same ol' partisan self everyday on his show. That's expected. But the timing of his commentary, or ANYONE'S, for that matter, was inappropriate. He's got four years to bash the President. I tend to agree with those Rush listeners I encountered when I say it could have waited 'til the inauguration was over. You people wake up! Limbaugh is a tremendous detriment to the nation. Moreover, in case it was unclear, on January 21st, he also proved he's a classless scumbag.

from Rush afterwards). I think WRKO
    has done this before.

    Wondering,
though, if Air America stations or
    NPR aired it w/ commentary..
Maybe someday there will be a radio
(perhaps already is one) where a station could broadcast one feed with
Rush's coverage and one with just the direct feed. Of course in Boston some other Rush affiliates
    from nearby areas--N.H., R.I.,
Worcester--may have carried the speech with his commentary, and listeners could go to them if they so chose.

  • I really don't understand how anyone can call this "censorship" or "a violation of the first amendment". I think that is extremely laughable. Exactly where does the first amendment say that anyone has a right to 4 hours a day of airtime to make their point?

Frankly, I've always been bugged by the fact that radio stations give him so much time to make his points without giving equal time to the opposition. But radio stations are private businesses. They are free to make their own programming decisions and if they choose to carry him, that is their first amendment right.

However, you have to admit that if they choose NOT to carry him, that is also their first amendment right.

Calling this censorship is asinine. Nobody is censoring him. He is completely free to say whatever he wants to say. The first amendment says that the government can't prosecute him for saying it...not that he has a godgiven right to have it carried on the radio.

By Blogger Unknown, at 21 January, 2009 20:09

  • How is it censorship?

Does the first amendment provide a godgiven right to be carried by radio stations nationwide?

I'd like to broadcast my opinions 3 hours a day.

    Am I being censored?

Conservatives are really starting to play the victim card and it isn't pretty.

Frankly, I'd like to see the radio stations give liberals as much time as they give Limbaugh. But its their own business decision to air (or not air) what they want. That isn't censorship.

Censorship is when government prosecutes people for what they say. Not when a private company makes a business decision.

You'd expect conservatives to understand this....

Clear Channel has laid off 9% of it's employees yesterday, with more to come, yet Rush Limbaugh just got a contract of $400 MILLION from them. To spew his hate.

Well, folks, it's capitalism. And, Rush got it made. The rest of you, getting laid off... screw you. Because that's how it goes.

They instead opted to broadcast an extra hour of a local call-in show. Why did we need "extra coverage" locally? Even last week, after the US AIR plane crash, they totally preempted Rush's show after the "Breaking News" bulletin was announced and we had to listen to radio coverage of the crash for an 1 1/2 hours. WHAM also seems to have a bad habit of continually running late during the local news breaks and joining the Rush in progress.

  • WTVN in Columbus, Ohio, did not air Rush during the speech. They also got complaint calls on the John Corby show afterward, saying they were disappointed in the station's decision to cut away for that half hour.

  • KKOB in Albuquerque, a conservative talk radio station, carried the event live through about 12:35 and then joined Rush in progress. I listened to Rush's show on his website, he made very few comments during the speech.

  • WVNN in Huntsville broadcasts on am and fm. The am broadcasted the ABC radio news coverage. Rush was on FM. I listed to Rush during the speach. His comments were dead on. The speach was not Obama at his best. I was greatly surprised. The audience did not even know when to clap or not. It was really strange. What was really sickening was listening to the MSM commentators drool all over themselves. Really unbelievable. Listened to Reagans speech the night before. No comparison.

  • it'd funny how i keep hearing people say the "whole nation" celebrated. I really don't remember the percentage, however, i'm an positive that 100 percent of Americans did not vote for Obama. he might have been the guy who won but he is not my president. i disagree with his policies and believe he will not keep Americas Best intrest in mind. that being said not all of us were celebrating. the hatred that you use to discribe Bush shows one thing: in YOUR America we are not free to express our oppinions unless they are your opinions--that is not the America i want to live in-- we are only equal to have the same rights to succeed in this country, but that does not mean we are all equal to each other. as for Rush, he's funny and let's face it--radio stations can do what they want --he's on there station to get the conservitive dollar, that's it. if they want to cut in to his show, he still gets paid--welcome to FREE enterprise the American way. and as a side note to the hateful liberals out there, just because i disagree doesn't make me the enemy--it's just my right as an American to have my own opinion--something that is no longer tolerated in this new America that is coming

  • Who cares? I listened to Rush on the Internet. Screw the local affiliates who decide to pander to the left. Wait til' the fairness doctrine is passed and AM radio is just a memory. These stations will be sucking vacuum tubes. Just as with newspapers, you can get Rush on the Internet without the hassle.

  • For you uneducated ones out there, let me explain what not wanting Obamba to succeed means. He is a socialist who seeks to expand his/democratic party power through expansion of the federal government through government "giveaways". Wishing him success means you hope that he succeeds in meeting his goals; why would one who disagrees with his beliefs wish him success?
Idiots! Why didn't you present-day Obamaites wish Bush success? Hmmmmm?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 00:28

  • What I expect of a positive speech? I would have wished to hear that according to the oath to uphold the Constitution, the one flubbed but one taken again, and even the flubbed one was not Obama's fault it seems, but that of the one administering it are the following:

Because government is a gun and a sword for the protection of the life, liberty, and possessions of the people, I would have wished the President to say that he would not execute ANY law that has the government usurping the responsibilities of the people to do charity and to educate their own, for government to usurp these it has entangled itself in religion. There you would have divested government of about 80% of the reason for our national debt, and would have government undistracted in protecting us from folk shooting and stealing from us. Of course the people would have to get back on the ball to provide for these things themselves. THAT would be the most positive thing I would have heard, and would defuse 99% of the debates, since useless discussions of "Woe, with ALL that money we spend on war materials, we could feed a million children." What the hey? THAT IS WHAT GOVERNMENT IS TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE...protect our behinds so we can get about DOING what WE THE PEOPLE are supposed to do. That being WE THE PEOPLE in our own private societies or individually or in Religious institutions are supposed to do our OWN charity work and to educate our OWN children to be the best candidate for heaven, nirvana, utopia or whatever, and in the process create the best philanthropic citizen of the community if you desire to compete with that produced from other worldviews to prove the value of your beliefs (or unbelief).

KNCO preempted Rush. Ticked me off because I couldn't get another signal at the time.

I really wish he'd pull his show off the stations that did this. Hit them in the pocketbook! Make them decide if they like their money enough to cut this out.

  • I just read the transcript of Rush's interview with Ann Coulter and then read this transcript afterwards. I find it very interesting that Rush and Ann were discussing how all these other people make themselves out to be the 'victims' and the media jumps on their bandwagon and the Dems then feel the need to help/bail them out but when Rush's commentary is not broadcast during a national and historical event he seems to be crying 'victim' himself. Is he secretly hoping the Dems will help him out? Whether you voted for Obama or not, the inaugeration of a new or re-elected president is an historical event that does not require radio voice-overs. I watched as much as I could with my two boys vying for my attention on a 'MSM' (main-strem media channel) and all I heard was Obama. That is exactly what I hoped to hear, his words as he said them, not some fluff or derision trying to drown out his remarks. As Americans, all of us, I had hoped for some respect for the office Obama now holds. I did not vote for Bush in either 2000 nor 2004 yet I respected him as my president because that is how our country works. I'm not advocating checking our brains at the door, however I am not advocating the snide comments and messianic terminology that Rush is using when refering to Barack Hussein Obama.

Also in response to his middle name, he had no control over that name and we were not fighting with Sadam Hussein at that time. I am sure that as a person, a black man, an American he had to come to terms with his given name and decided to be proud of the heritage he had from his father. Maybe he shows more class and strength by keeping his middle name than by hiding it like Ann Coulter seemed to suggest he should have done.

  • KTMS/Santa Barbara carried Rush live during the Inauguration Speech. This of course is Rush's radio show and I defend his right, like anyone else, to exercise Free Speech. I'm certainly no Obama fan, but Rush's running commentary and noisemaking was juvenile, inappropriate and unprofessional...not to mention un-entertaining, un-amusing and totally lacking in any creativity or meaningful content whatsover. Rush, if you're going to do such ego-centric, pretentious and downright disrespectful posturing, as least try for some entertainment value. You used to have a VERY relevant radio show and commentary. Now sadly, you've turned into nothing more than a bitter blowhard, a cartoon character now doing more damage than good to the conservative cause and message. The really sad thing is that you appear to be irretrievably caught up in your own bombastic BS.

  • I'm conservative, and almost always enjoy what Rush has to say. I also am frankly quite frightened over what Obama might do to this country. That said, I thought Rush's blabbering during the speech was highly disrespectful of the office of the president. I wish my news-talk station (WRNN, Myrtle Beach, SC) had gone to a live feed instead of playing Rush's commentary.

Isn't it ironic that the very ones who are saying that Rush is being hateful towards Obama are actually the ones whose comments here are oozing hate towards Rush, Bush, and half the county. So very typical of liberals. If you don't agree with them they demonize you. Rush, keep it up my friend. We are listening and waiting for marching orders.

  • 840 WHAS in Louisville, KY, pre-empted Rush for his first hour, the entirety of Obama's speech, for Fox News Radio programming. They resumed with Rush at 1-3pm. I was not a happy camper, Rush has been literally the only media outlet I can go to these past few weeks without wanting to puke all over myself watching these so-called "journalists" and "reporters" cover Obama. Keep it up, Rush, life-long Dittohead here...

  • 590 AM KQNT Spokane, WA censored RUSH the first hour to appease the bold anonymous leftists. Sandpoint's KSPT 1400 AM did honor freedom of speech and did broadcast Rush's show.

In the late 90's Ken Hamblin was dropped from KGA 1510 AM. According to the station it was because of dwindling conservative listeners. It was the same reason KXLY 920 AM used when it moved the Mark Levin show from 3:PM to 9:PM. Spokane AM radio reception after 6:PM is pathetic around Sagle, Idaho.

Reception from 1530 out of Sacramento, CA or Boise, ID comes in at night but no local voices are heard clearly until 6:AM. Perhaps conservative radio listeners are leaving to watch insipid night time TV.

Once we were actually sent to a commerical - we tried to go to his site to get around the sensoring but we weren't members - but yes - the station here was sadly sensored -

It behoves me how liberals are so deluded that they actually believe that by sensoring what 320 million other people listen to - they will some cause us to think, feel, behave and believe like they do - the truth be told - if that were even remotely possible - they wouldn't be democrats now would they - they'd all be republicans or independants!

Hopefully - Mr. Limbaugh will post the broadcast on his site and allow those of us who were sensored to relisten to those parts -

Republicans ignored the protestations of conservatives during the two years leading up to the 2006 elections and started acting a little like tax n’ spend DemocRatz gone-wild. Turning into Republican’tz didn’t work out all that well for the GOP in the last elections yet Lib-bots suggest we follow the lead of RINO’s and Republican’tz by becoming frolicking, lighthearted dimbulbs.

Perhaps we should all forget about divisive issues such as constitutional rights and go get in the spirit of the Obamanation’s New, New Deal by going on a Club GitMo Get Away Excursion Tour. Obamamaniacs could join us, in the spirit of bipartisan frolic, and tour the areas coastal waters on boards.

  • Now conservatives are angry because I called them Anti-American for wishing for Obama to fail...... Yet.... we were terrorists for pointing out that most of the CIA was stating Iraq had no WMD before we invaded Iraq.

I was a terrorist for speaking the truth.......

Conservatives forget so quickly that Bush was NEVER elected in 2000, the supreme court decided he won, not the voters, so YES many people did not accept him, however after 9-11 we supported him , until conservatives started calling us terorists for pointing out Iraq did not have stock piles of WMD as poer our won inteligence

If any conservative bothered to read in 2002, they would have too seen that the CIA was contradicting Bush's information on WMD...... The Bush adminstration had to hire Ari Fliecher to invent inteligence with an entire shadow inteligence agency to go around the CIA, called Office for special plans.
I was a terrorist for pointing this out, a traitor for pointing out the government was lying and ignoring the actual inteligence. Plame will not be forgotten either
Obama has done nothing on that level yet........ Conservatives are terrified of the truth, Bush lied to us all, and crafted this purposely, this will never go away... NEVER. Yet... I'm the traitor for pointing out the deception, not an OPINION A FACT.

Their sick, loyalty to the GOP cost them dearly. IF Obama pulled an Iraq, we would no longer support Obama, the same cant be said of conservatives. A Republican could rape their own mother and they would shriek about "libs" and blame "libs" or Obama.
Rush trained you people like seals, turned you against America to the point where only ideology matters.

What are conservatives so scared of with Obama? He promises to help the middle class and build industry..... I suppose conservatives like when most of America is broke? As I always said whats good for America is bad for conservatives. Conservatives crave social darwinism, deep down they have some kind of sick satisfaction to see people losing their homes, losing their jobs as they drive their expensive BMW's and smoke $200 cigars.
Is that what it is? Do you people thrive off of other's misery? It seems to be that way. To wish for Obama to fail, when his goal to help fix the economy... Why would you want him to fail at this?

Obama did not say he was taking away private property and taking away you're money. He did not even promise to raise taxes for those who earn over $250K. I can see people questioning how is he going to pay for everything without raising taxes..... criticism is good, questioning is good. Wishing for him to fail is Un-American, considering his goals will benefit America if it works.

The conservaive goal is to re-distribute wealth, by starving the majority and allowing the minorty to become richer. That is their goal, no shock a pig who flaunts his wealth like Rush loves the GOP so much. Conservatives do not serve 95% of us, they seek to damage us and turn this nation into an immobile caste system. Thier ideas promote a caste system that is immobile, anything that makes the working class stronger the conservtive movement is vehemently against.
Conservatives are against unions, against public education and against regulation on business.... all thibngs which benefit the majority

Why are you people, so visciously Anti-American

  • I didn't get a chance to listen (believe it or not I couldn't stop the world // had to work and had customers in). People it is freedom of speach. By the way since Obama has been around the media seems to not want such a freedom.

The most important point. If you listen to Rush you KNOW there will be comments made (oh wait even those who don't listen know he will make comments) . What on earth is a teacher/school choosing the Limbaugh show to filter in? Can we say DUH?

Get over yourselves.. I have family members/friends who are Obama supporters that are just about PUKING because people push Obama! Obama!. They have their own God or just are plain athiest... not looking for God but a President. (who by the way can't do jack really without a bunch of the other big political beings backing him.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 15:31

  • One of the liberal "anon"s said that Rush Limbaugh's days are over and the election proves it. "Anon" that is what is commonly referred to as a non sequitur. In layman's terms one does not follow the other. Your claim that Rush's days are over is wishful thinking on your part albeit completely ignorant. Rush's ratings are at an alltime high and more stations are still being added to the EIB Radio Network affiliates list. So Rush Limbaugh, a radio talk show host who has been on the air for 20 years now and been on top in the ratings for most of those 20 is not going away anytime soon. Get used to being disappointment "Anon."

By Blogger Carl, at 22 January, 2009 15:33

  • Why do you all think that 'liberals' censored Rush? Are all radio stations run by liberals? Even the ones that run Rush's entertainment show? I don't think so.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 15:40

  • I love watching liberals (who needed to change their name to progressives!) bash Rush. He actually calls it before the libs even start talking. And he called this one too.

He said he wanted Obama to fail. And the libs took it and said Rush wants the country to fail. But, Rush even said on his show when he told everyone he wanted Obama to fail, that the libs would take it that way.

He went on for about 15 minutes explaining what he meant. Any simpleton could realize what he meant, which is NOT what the libs are portraying!

Liberalism and socialism are archaic failures. Rush, nor over 50 million of my fellow Americans that voted, want that for our country...as it means the country will fail.

Obama does not equal country. Obama failing at what he has promised means the country gets to succeed. If Obama gets his way, especially on the big things, the country will fail.

It has been a long time since conservatives have been in charge (Reagan). Notice I did NOT say Republicans (of which most are not conservatives, including 41 and 43).

Since we had a non-conservative in McCain, I was glad to sit this one out...and now sit back and painfully laugh (painfully as my taxes go up and my country gets taken over by Marxists). Since most of my countryment no longer understand freedom, the Founders, the principles of liberty and free markets...I am going to sit back and laugh over the next 4 years (or two...because Obama could be like Clinton and cost his party the majority after two years...hopefully if that happens, we will have elected some conservatives!). I am going to sit back and laugh when my fellow countryment sit back and wonder "why isnt this working?"

And then...for all of our sake...hopefully we will have one massive "get a clue" moment!

I want to know what a minority thinks because I'm a liberal and I care about the poor conservatives. They get screwed by their leadership - or should I say used, and they are the victims of all liberals in the world. I feel sorry for them, I really do.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 16:10

  • As as patriotic American and liberal I had hope that President Bush would not screw everything up - I never hoped that he would fail because if he failed we all failed.

For Rush to say that he hopes Obama fails means that he wants America to fail. Not very patriotic. Do you think it was the drugs talking?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 16:13

  • Oh, and it is hilarious to watch the libs now defend this guy. The same libs that trashed Bush (I was no Bush fan, except on taking the war on terror to every part of the globe and eliminating these scum).

Some have asked why conservatives opposing Obama and not giving him a honey moon.

Well, one answer (which I dont subscribe to) is that conservatives just want to treat Obama the way Bush was treated by the libs. So, it is fair to call him names, throw things at his limo, make up things about what he has done or hasnt done, demonize him, etc. If it was good for libas and Bush, it is good for Conservatives and Obama.

Remember when Carter left and Reagan came in? At the inaugural, you didnt hear conservatives booing Carter (who had left things in MUCH worse shape than we have now). Conservatives acted grown up and gave the man respect. Fast forward to this last Tuesday, where liberals booed Bush as he came out. And the same folks that booed him want us to work with them and back Obama. Hypocrits all!!

But conservatives arent going to play the liberals game. We arent like you! Yes, we will oppose Obama, just as we opposed Clinton and both Bush's. When they were right, we backed them Clinton and NAFTA for example). When they were wrong, we didnt give them any quarter...we came at them with both barrels (Example: Bush and these stupid bailouts and economy busting packages SUPPOSEDLY designed to fix the economy...but instead are just bankrupting our children).

No. We will not act like you. Ruch and the other conservatives out there will back our president when he is right. And we will go after his ideas and oppose him if he is wrong.

To do anything else would be to act like liberals!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 16:16

  • Anonymous....Rush never said he wanted America to fail. He is saying he wants America to succeed...which means that Obama must fail at what he has promised.

Now, if Obama goes against his promises and doesnt bring us more socialism...then conservatives want him to succeed at that!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 16:26

Actually much less showed up that even have of the 3-4 million estimated (some as high as 5 million). Based upon arial/satellite photo calculations of the crowd, a couple of sources estimate the crowd to be less than one million. One claims 800,000 to be closer to how many were actually present. Funny thing...liberal extremists are still clinging to inflated numbers thinking that validates something however they grow silent when it has been revealed that a) hotel rooms in the D.C. area were not sold out & were available even during the events; b) many homes that were out up for rent even at reduced prices went unrented during the events; c) the numbers are the major evening balls were much less than anticipated; and d) many private, corporate and public balls and festivities to be held the afternoon/evening of inaguration day had to be cancelled or greatly scaled back. None of those would have happened even if half of the 3-5 million people that the libs (government, media AND citizenry) claimed would be there for "The One"'s coronation actually showed up. This follows so much of libs drooling over "The One" during the campaign and making outrageous, overinflated claims concerning his achievements, accomplishments, etc. that proved over and over again to be untrue.

Again why we can't trust the cult of Obama.

  • Another "Anonymous" wrote:

Bush brought more socialism to the USA than Obama has since yesterday."

What a crock. More stupidity from another liberal too lazy to bother coming up with an ident other than "Anonymous" or too cowardly to provide a name and link to their website/blog (if they have one).

C'mon you libs, keep it coming...you just keep on stooping lower and lower thereby proving Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and pretty much every conservative talk show host and pundit to be absolutely correct about you people.

  • Carl,
you sound like a child who keeps repeating himself. Liberals don't care what your right wing entertainers have to say, only you care.

I don't have a web site or blog and I can be anonymous if I want to. Why do you hate America?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 18:33

  • Carl, you work for the Gov'ment? Are you going to quit now that you have a new boss? Why are you sucking from the gov'ment teat if you hate America so much? No wonder our gov'ment doesn't function, Carl is posting comments all day. Get to work.

  • Our local affiliate, WJET 1440 dropped Rush a while ago, unwilling to pay for access to the EIB network star. They have replaced Rush with Dennis Miller and, to be sure, have lost a landslide of listeners. Erie, PA has always been about 10 years behind the rest of the nation, and with the one of the most liberal newspapers in the nation, I think. They, too, are on their way out. It won't be long for either of them, and when it happens, good riddance and a brighter future for the "Mistake on the Lake".

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 19:08

  • More typical liberal extremist nonsense proving conservatives correct thanks to two more "Anon"s. Can they get any more pointless and irrelevent offering nothing to any conversation? And the libs answer, "yes, we can!"

Stay tuned true believers! The liberals are wallowing deeply in the muck and mire they produce. ROFL!!! They are so predictable! Rush was right...again.

Oh, BTW libs, where are the national liberal talk shows? Oh that's right...the free market shows national lib-talk isn't viable. Top talk radio show in the nation? Conservative. 2nd top talk radio show in the nation? Conservative. 3rd top talk show in the nation? Conservative. I could go down the list but the top radio talk shows in the nation are overwhelmingly conservative not liberal. Get used to disappointment, libs. The facts disprove your fantasy that conservatism is dead when it is alive and well and frankly, I hope resurges to overwhelm liberalism as it did briefly during the Reagan years and also during the "Contract With America" years. Vote out the RINOs and libs and get true growth, success and prosperity for America. Bottom line: liberalism and its developing socialism (e.g. -- Barack Obama) doesn't work and never will.

Keep posting your refuse, libs. It only shows how pathetically ignorant, paranoid, conspiratorial, vitriolic, vile, insensitive, creepy and brain-dead you truly are. You deserve absolutely no respect, trust nor support and frankly when true conservatives actually stand up to you and your liberalism you always lose in the long run.

  • WVOM in bangor, maine played the whole thing and after what I have read here I applaud them for doing so. The weenie stations that cut him out ought to just drop him altogether. But they will not do that because the revenue he generates for them keeps them on the air. Thanks Rush-keep on it!Pete in Bar Harbor

  • 570 KNRS in Salt Lake City carried the full commentary from Rush, but they offered listeners a chance to hear Fox News coverage on their website. I thought that was clever. I, of course, listened to Rush.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at 22 January, 2009 23:24

  • Carl works for the government and hates America. No wonder our country is going down the tubes. You conservatives are bad losers and cry babies. Keep listening to Rush because no one else cares what you have to say.

  • There you have it folks another "anon" liberal who is unable to tell the truth so he/she has to misrepresent others to try to demonize them. Once again this further proves that Limbaugh, Hannity, pretty much every conservative radio talk show host & pundit AND myself have been right all along concerning the dishonesty, vileness, derangement and sheer stupidty of the extreme left. Since they cannot win in the realm of ideas, they resort to nonsense like the lib "anon"s have demonstrated in the comments sections of this blog.

  • It is not necessary to listen to Rush or watch Fox News to know how deceptive, divisive, and dishonest B. Hussein Obama is. Merely watch him twist like a leaf in a breeze. Observe the great links he and his manipulators go to to cover up his past and his sordid associations. Why was it necessary to hide details about his ACTUAL vault copy of his birth certificate? How could he have spent 20 years in an organization without knowing the policies and principles of the organization and its leadership? He, and they, deny any connection between him and ACORN. Yet publications championing socialist/Marxist agendas have published article glorifying his close work with ACORN and bragged about their ability to control his election in Illinois politics. They also describe their indebtedness to B. Hussein Obama for his training of ACORN personnel.

  • I have become disgusted with B. Hussein Obama's rhetoric about "moving' beyond the perceived socially divisive issues and uniting the country. Yet any criticism on him is distorted and attacked as being racially inspired even if the facts support the criticism(s).

It is not unlike the screams of racism, blasphemy, and islamophobia emanating from the Islamic activists and their apologists over criticism of Islam, its religious texts, and the actions of the jihadists.

I am especially alarmed at his thinly disguised effort to free all the terrorists from GITMO and his open arms pleas/pledges to the Muslims. This includes his pledge to wave the white flag and retreat from the middle east

  • Mind-numbed moonbats snivel and whine about Pres. Obama being called “the Messiah,” bummer. It was one of the darlings of the left that first referred to then candidate Barackula as “the Messiah.” Prior to that, thoughtful folks were refering to him as the moonbats “chosen one.”
    Quote:
“Farrakhan on Obama: 'The Messiah is absolutely speaking'
'Barack has captured the youth,' will bring about 'universal change’”

“Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, another powerful Chicago-based political figure associated with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright and other long-time associates of Democratic Party presidential candidate Barack Obama, is leaving no doubt about what he thinks of the leader in the campaign for the White House.
He says when Obama talks "the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

Noting “his unrivaled one-party control of both congressional chambers,” will Barackula’s bullying scare Republicans into Republican’tz and have them ignore what‘s right for our USA? Does President Obama and his lib-bot sycophants consider all Republican politicians and our freedom of speech irrelevant? Perhaps it’s merely the free speech of patriotic Americans that upsets and offends lib-bots.

“PREZ ZINGS GOP FOE IN A $TIMULATING TALK”
“WASHINGTON -- President Obama warned Republicans on Capitol Hill today that they need to quit listening to radio king Rush Limbaugh if they want to get along with Democrats and the new administration.

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package. - snip

In an exchange with Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) about the proposal, the president shot back: "I won," according to aides briefed on the meeting.

"I will trump you on that."

Not that Obama was gloating. He was just explaining that he aims to get his way on stimulus package and all other legislation, sources said, noting his unrivaled one-party control of both congressional chambers.

"We are experiencing an unprecedented economic crisis that has to be dealt with and dealt with rapidly," Obama said during the meeting.

Republicans say the $825 billion price tag is too big a burden for a nation crippled by debt and that it doesn't do enough to stimulate the economy by cutting taxes.

"You know, I'm concerned about the size of the package. And I'm concerned about some of the spending that's in there, [about] ... how you can spend hundreds of millions on contraceptives," House GOP Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) later said.

"How does that stimulate the economy?"”

Surely do move ahead at breakneck speed, dumping Trillions of our hard earned tax dollars into a megalomaniacal power grab before anyone realizes we’re all being fleeced. Not only are Republican’tz digging their own graves with their own tools, they’re purchasing the land for their graveyard with our hard earned money. Their eternal monument will be the DemocRatz pyramid that’s scheduled to be built upon their political graves.

All hail the New, New Deal and hope n’ Change. All dissent must be stifled in the spirit of mindless moonbat bipartisanship. Do the New, New Deal quickly, before moderates and libertarians realize just how hard we’re all being ridden. After their done with their hard ride DemocRatz intend to put us away wet. Yet speak not ill of their vile plans lest ye offend warm n’ fuzzy lib-bots.

  • WTAM in Cleveland cut away from Rush during Obama's inauguration, too.

  • It is truly sad to see what could be a civil, even if passionate, discourse about this subject and current events, become filled with vile name calling, lies, twisting of historical facts, and demonstrations of factual ignorance. President Obama IS operating from and to the left, even though this flies in the face of what taking that road has done in other countries, every time it has been tried. It is a road this country has been slowly moving on since the 1930's, only now it is no longer on the road, but has gone into hyperdrive! This frightens me. If his agenda is as it appeared to be during his campaign, and more so since taking office, I also want that to fail. If I want to live in a Socialism, please do some research on Socialism, it is not what this country was founded on, what made us great, and not what will lead to future success. As for Mr. Limbaugh, if you are going to express your opinions of his style and political leanings, that is fine. (This is still America, for now.) However, telling lies and calling names does little to add credibility to what you say. No, the First Ammendment was not put in to cover every conceivable phrase or content imagainable, it was to protect freedom of the press, and the expresion of political speech and opinions by citizens. Whether to carry Rush at that time was made by each individual station, as was their right, just as it was the right of Rush listeners to find another station to listen to at that time. (Luckily, I was able to listen via the internet, as Rush also used his right to free speech to express his political views.)

  • Nothing that liberals do or say surprises me anymore. I have been around long enough and have enough degrees to know that some people think with their hearts (liberals), and some think with their minds (conservatives). Emotional dramatics are the only way liberals know how to communicate, because that is how they think. So their diatribes, once again, do not really surprise me. They think that we conservatives don't care about the little guy. Guess what...we do. We know that putting money in the hands of entrepreneurs and business creates jobs. Those jobs are what sustain Americans, at least the ones who WANT to work. The only job a poor person ever created was more government bureaucracy. The War on Poverty is nothing but a financial black hole that saps our country's wealth and creates a dependent class. Oh no...I forgot...reason does not work for liberals. Perhaps I am wasting my breath.
