Say, what's the going rate for a guy who lied about having won a Pulitzer Prize, was said to creep out MSNBC cable staffers while serving as Tucker's Carlson's sidekick, pretended to live in the Bay State while actually a resident of New York, claimed to be a major political consultant, somehow gave the press the idea he was a Harvard Law School graduate and has just bombed in national syndication?
For Boston's WTKK- FM, it may be as much as a cool million per year. Would they really pay Jay Severin that much money to take over afternoon drive there?
Is anybody worth that kind of dough in a shrinking market with a shaky economy and declining news- talk listener support?
The information is based on an inside tip that Severin's new / old employer will neither officially confirm nor deny.
With every red flag under the sun screaming "avoid this guy", what makes him employable?

Good for Jay Severin. Never heard him on the radio but heard him a few times on IMUS and liked him.
He is basically a conservative but not the bend-over-and-grab-your-ankles variety that Maloney admires. He doesn't use RNC talking points as his source content.

As a relatively moderate conservative, I like the fact that as a libertarian with relatively conservative views on certain issues, Jay doesn't always tote the party line, especially when the party line is BS, like the unblinking support for Mao-Mart and such.
Nontheless, the guy's got a face made for radio, and he can be entertaining. Plus, Laura Ingraham can't be on 24/7. She's got to sleep at some point.
