The Radio Equalizer: Brian Maloney

26 June 2007

Air America Radio, Atlantic City, Liberal Talk Radio

Maybe The 'Imbalance' Crowd Should Clam Up

For the first time in ages, a station has actually added Air America Radio to its lineup. From All Access:

Atlantic City AM Gambles On Air America

ACCESS.1's WTAA-A (formerly WTKU-A, and before that WUSS-A)/ATLANTIC CITY flips from a simulcast of sister Oldies WTKU (OLDIES 98) to Talk using AIR AMERICA RADIO.

ACCESS.1's WWRL-A/NEW YORK serves as AIR AMERICA's flagship.

If there's such a conspiracy to keep libtalk off of the airwaves, what explains this?

Should the "structural imbalance" crowd shift their focus to providing outlets for lefty programming, or is it more fun to whine about radio's unfairness?

SAVE Internet radio: it's almost too late! Today: the Internet Radio Day Of Silence is underway.

  • Besides, Maloney, people get their news in Atlantic City from Philly, despite the presence of a small TV station WMGM-TV NBC 40--And no despite the call letters, MGM the film studio doesn't own the station!

Also according to the numbers, A-C has a Country station at the top in WPUR. AC WFPG is second. The top AM station with a 4.3 rating is a simulcast of news/talk WOND and WGYM.

And at least in terms of the ratings, they aren't embargoed like they were a couple years ago int he Norwich/New London market here in CT-Stan!
