Dr Laura Schlessinger Not Supporting Sarah Palin
'DISAPPOINTED'
Radio Advice Star Dr Laura Not Backing Palin's VP Bid
Again underscoring her history of tough, independent stances, syndicated radio talk host Dr Laura Schlessinger is expressing concern over John McCain's selection of Sarah Palin as his vice-presidential running mate.
That could have Dr Laura at odds with some of her traditional defenders, who tend to be conservative and highly supportive of Palin's nomination.
Writing at her blog site, Schlessinger indicated that while she will still vote for John McCain this November, she was "disappointed" by his choice, based on concerns for Palin's family:
In supporting Palin's candidacy, your Radio Equalizer believes it will be up to the Palins to best determine how to balance conflicting and pressing demands of family and country. Does Schlessinger believe Sarah should also resign from office in Alaska?
As was made abundantly clear during last night's speech, Sarah Palin simply possesses too much potential during a period when our nation truly requires strong leadership.
This site believes there is a way for Palin to remain in the ring while keeping Schlessinger's thoughts in mind.
So, now that lefties and Dr Laura agree on something, even if for different reasons, will they cease their decade-long barrage of personal attacks against her? Don't bet on it.

Writing at her blog site, Schlessinger indicated that while she will still vote for John McCain this November, she was "disappointed" by his choice, based on concerns for Palin's family:
Forget gender and race. I’m frankly and sadly caught in the dilemma of having to balance policy versus example in touting a candidate for the office of the First Family. I was ferociously attacked (what’s new?) when I spoke out strongly against Bill Clinton’s dalliances in the Oval Office. That situation quickly turned into a debate whether “private has anything to do with public.”
Nonsense. Role models are very important. Children and young adults look to those who are visible and successful as a road map of what is acceptable behavior and emulate those actions over the morals and values their parents and churches have taught and tried to reinforce. It’s a tough go these days, when the “bad that men or women do” is used for entertainment purposes without judgment, or is excused because of political or financial considerations.
I’m stunned - couldn’t the Republican Party find one competent female with adult children to run for Vice President with McCain? I realize his advisors probably didn’t want a “mature” woman, as the Democrats keep harping on his age. But really, what kind of role model is a woman whose fifth child was recently born with a serious issue, Down Syndrome, and then goes back to the job of Governor within days of the birth?
I am haunted by the family pictures of the Palins during political photo-ops, showing the eldest daughter, now pregnant with her own child, cuddling the family’s newborn. When Mom and Dad both work full-time (no matter how many folks get involved with the children), it becomes a somewhat chaotic situation.
Certainly, if a child becomes ill and is rushed to the hospital, and you’re on the hotline with both Israel and Iran as nuclear tempers are flaring, where’s your attention going to be? Where should your attention be? Well, once you put your hand on the Bible and make that oath, your attention has to be with the government of the United States of America.
I am positively moved that neither Sarah nor her daughter were willing to terminate the lives of their unborn children. This is in sharp contrast to Obama’s statement that “When it comes specifically to HIV/AIDS, the most important prevention is education, which should include…which should include abstinence education and teaching children…teaching children, you know, that sex is not something casual. But it should also include - it should also include other, you know, information about contraception, because, look, I’ve got two daughters, 9 years old and 6 years old. I am going to teach them first of all about values and morals. But if they make a mistake, I don’t want them punished with a baby.” (March, 2008)

As many have pointed out, Obama also has young children. Wouldn't he be distracted if his child were raced to the hospital during a presidential moment? Of course. Having only grown children or no children is not a qualification for holding office.
Besides, as any parent will tell you, just because one's kids are grown, that doesn't mean parents stop thinking/worrying about them.

If this was 1997,this would maybe have a minimal impact. NOW-it means NOTHING. This witch is as phony as the day is long. She and Savage will vote Obama.

hrm...hypocrite, much?
DLS can't support Palin, and is going to show it by voting for McCain?
That simply doesn't make sense.
as for this dribble from you: "...Sarah Palin simply possesses too much potential during a period when our nation truly requires strong leadership."
What potential? Potential to be corrupt? Potential to lie?
Strong leadership? Yeah, so strong the McCain campaign has to sequester her from reporters so they won't ask her questions about HER RECORD.

Brian, you're making yourself look more like an idiot than is usual for you.
The only one "buying" these lies you keep fomenting are those who already simply toe the party line.
And most of them even know it isn't the truth.
Weak, weak, weak.

Maloney I am getting the weirdest vibes from you that you think Dr. Laura is an Obama supporter.
BROTHER ARE YOU WAY OFF YOUR BARCALOUNGER!
If anything I think Dr. L (who is 10,000 times better than that HOPRAH driven Mount Baldy Dr. Phil!) is someone who would write in the name of another great black man--namely Alan Keyes.
At my job, where I scan in info on AuPairs and host families who are basically giving up their God given rights to be families, I tune in on the web to WATR Radio 1320 in Waterbury, CT. The longest running locally owned station in the state of CT-Stan--75 years in 2009. From 10-1, I tune in Talk of The Town with Ed Flynn, who really shows the spirit of Waterbury as a city that gets things done when it needs to, unlike the milqtoast I have to deal with in Greenwich.
And he makes it clear that despite the hype for both media driven candidates, he is in the book for Alan Keyes.
Now who is my pick for President? Well it's a name the corporate fascist media will never let you know about--Chuck Baldwin of the Constitution Party. My liberal mom calls my vote a wasted one. WRONG MOMMA! A vote for McCain or "Da Chosen One"--THAT'S A WASTED VOTE...
A wasted vote to turn this country further into a 1-world socialist government at the slave driving of the UN, one that allows illegal aliens carte blanche over everything and turning us into the North American Union and one that punishes people like Ramos and Compean for doing the right thing just to be in bed with a corrupt socialist government like Mexico...THAT FOLKS IS UNFIT FOR ME!
With my vote for Baldwin, Maloney, I am saying to the two party system you screwed with me for too long, now it's time to screw right back and REALLY...APPLY...PRESSURE!

As much as I am tempted to concentrate on TJ's lies, I have to focus on this instead: This is one conservative who has never ever liked Dr. Laura. Judgmental, loud, obnoxious, and why anybody calls her for advice I will never figure out.

"TJ's lies"...wow. I didn't tell one lie. Not one.
Partisan-projecting much, anonymous?
"the real bob anthony" is about as knee-jerk partisan as they come, but if he is honest about voting for a 3rd party ticket - _that's_ intellectual honesty for you.
By Anonymous, at 05 September, 2008 09:11
Yes, you did lie. Sarah Palin will eventually do all the talk shows. Except, of course for "Countdown", but that doesn't count, because Keith Olbermann is too cowardly to debate anybody he disagrees with.

IF I AM HONEST?! I was thinking about Michael Savage or Alan Keyes as write-in votes, until Pastor Baldwin, the ANTI-Rick Warren, came along.
And tj, the Constitution Party ain't your run of the mill 3rd Party, like say The Green Party.
My big issue is immigration, because there are better jobs I could be doing than the high school student job I have of mere office work. But Autism prevents me. Autism--MERCURY POISONING THAT'S WHAT IT IS!
But thanks to illegal aliens ruining the economy and taking American jobs, and since McCain voted for amnesty for illegals (before being shot down in flames by talk radio)and I live in a state with two sanctuary cities, New Haven and Hartford, both of them are urban socialist areas, this is where I am.
If I was governor those cities would be declared UNWORTHY of state aid. Same goes for Bridgeport, Stamford, New London, any of the big cities in the state.
In fact, here's what the C-P say about immigration:
http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php#Immigration
And perhaps you are right in calling me knee-jerk. I have VERY LITTLE PATIENCE! Either get it done or get out. And I will admit I would be horrible at debates. I could stomach the left, elitists and their tirades for a few seconds before I go on the rampage.

Sarah Palin HAS already been governor of Alaska and done it just fine-highest approval rating of any governor! and been a mayor, too. Why doubt her being successful in this role, too? Its silly to think otherwise. She has a hands-on husband and hundreds of aides at her disposal. She will be a breath of fresh air-America's new Jacquie O and Princess Di rolled into one. I like her and she's pro life. Everyone I know will vote for her. Obama, I beleive would not be a good president, neither, would Michelle be a good first lady-they both don't think before they speak-and it makes them look bad and untrustworthy. Michelle on the VIEW called her husband 'pathetic' and was corrected by one of the host-saying,'don't you mean 'sympathetic'and Obama on the lipstick comment was just too close to what Sarah had referred to herself a few days before. Sad-choice of words on his part. If he's elected I think someone from the south could shoot him and the stock market will plummet down. Very sad for America.

I was beginning to think that I was the only conservative who felt this way about her? I could never figure out why so many conservatives would listen to her, let alone call her for advice?
